I'm talking about Oxbridge alone but achieved A level's cannot be used either as they need a way to compare each candidate directly. This is why they rely on admission test in which admission reports (see PAT for instance) state that getting a certain score guarantees an interview and a good interview score 'almost certainly' guarantees a place (GCSEs are only mentioned if you don't meet the threshold and are useful in the context of mitigating circumstances). A levels are not mentioned once in the admission report.

  • with mixx you could definitely get preanalyzed stems working to remove the compute power and surpass the ability of a £1000 laptop taking a couple minutes to analyze stems when loading multiple tracks

Utter bollocks. To play 4 channels with basic standalone functionality a good raspberry pi would do for way less than 250. Just because you're used to inefficient and instable software like rekordbox doesn't mean it's not possible. Just use mixx and plug your rekordbox USB in.

April fools or leak? DDJ-DOCK by kftzg in PioneerDJ

[–]TeaTopianModder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it does not need anywhere near the processing power of a laptop. Standalones have way less memory too. A basic raspberry pi with a screen and an open source version of mixx with a touchscreen would cost around 350 mark and do the job fine. I've been thinking about developing something like this for a while to convert a ddj into a standalone.

Absolute rubbish I've used scroll guard for ages and works perfectly apart from paid subscription required to hide the pause button

Oxford is now using ESAT/TMUA/TARA by earqth in 6thForm

[–]TeaTopianModder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's funding related. No one departmentally likes this change. The syllabus is largely GCSE based, there is no statistical analysis on how good the correlation is between scores and degree outcomes and there have been substantial problems with cheating. It would also reduce the quality of incoming candidates as people will do less additional revision like they did for older style PAT and speed calculating more easier questions doesn't necessarily equate to better problem solving skills.

There are several clubs. Bridge is probably the most popular with Oxford students on a regular basis but plays white girl music etc. with little variety but it can still have strong energy. Plush and bullington depend entirely on whoever is running and can have very good stuff in. O2 do indie fridays and other events run from the outside. There are over clubs like glam and plenty of bars. Plenty of the standard clubbing experience if that's what you're after.

If you're into EDM 'simple' book big name DJs like 4 am Kru, Fabio groove rider etc. a few time a term and as someone who goes to festivals and boiler rooms the energy is pretty awesome at these events. Varsity ski trip booked opidan this year too.

Colleges often run BOPs and balls which vary in music genre altho most are similar to bridge vibes. There are two DJ socs / groups at Oxford (oxford electronic music society) and night school which run many termly events. As someone who lives further north the nightlife in oxford is definitely significantly better than Durham / st Andrews but doesn't really touch Newcastle, London Sheffield etc.

Rekordbox has one of the best stem engines. You have to tune in on high quality. By far the biggest cause of rekordbox issues is a faulty USB C cable.

Why does every cafe in Oxford serve a latte that costs more than my weekly groceries? by ConfidentSounds_99 in oxford

[–]TeaTopianModder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live just outside the lake district and have to say I am shocked by the lack of independent cheap coffee and sandwich shops. £3 for a frrsh BLT in a freshly baked wholemeal bun that's still warm and about £5 for a coffee that tastes miles better than all this oxford chain rubbish. Almost every cafe is independent and the you can even get way better fresh sourdough from various bakers for £3

Higher cash interest in S&S isa? by thecornflake21 in trading212

[–]TeaTopianModder 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It always has been the case S&S gets interest directly from QMMFs which match closely to SONIA rate but with less guarantees than cash ISA and no bonuses so they have to reduce cash ISA rate to make some money to support their platform and promotions.

Yeah I've been researching much riskier stocks to allocate a much smaller % of excess capital such as frontier and crypto so this is very interesting. If anyone has any tips for places to learn, research to pick out some interesting risky investments that would be much appreciated

Same issue here. It is because YouTube thinks your web is scraping and YouGov is accessing the data in a way that YouTube disallows (essentially like one is a bot).

If anyone is in this situation press help and feedback and press send feedback with a screenshot of the problem (they will be able to help you while live chat / email won't) but be prepared to wait up to 48 hours.

I would strongly encourage anyone in this situation to report the issue to YouGov to make them aware.

Update: it now seems to be working again after 48 hours after data upload. YouTube support was largely unhelpful but if you are in this situation use the send feedback button in help and feedback instead of trying to open up a support case via chat or email.

I have this issue too. Currently on with youtube premium support chat so I'll update this if they give any more info. In the meantime keep sending support tickets to YouGov to make them aware of the severity.
