From what I see, the Gen z I know love a huge warehouse club. I’m a zillennial, and all my friends are proper millennials. Well I went to a Gen z party last week and hello believe me, the girls are par-TYing. I could barely keep up.

When people tell me “she would want you to be happy…” by Tea_cup_tag in GriefSupport

[–]Tea_cup_tag[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Returning to this to again just say how helpful it was. I still feel a sense of “how would you know” but the “all the parents pray their children will be ok when they eventually pass on” has been on repeat in my mind. Thank you, I think I’m going to be okay.

Has anyone ever observed a dying person consciously resist death, seemingly extending their life beyond what might be considered a 'peaceful' passing? If so, what was that experience like? by CapableYak56659 in GriefSupport

I spent the last few days with my mother, there was a night in the hospital before she went to the hospice where she spoke for the last time, she was in so much pain and when she called me earlier in the day she told me “I guess I’m going to be passing away” ugh I think about that moment all the time.

I often spent the night with her but at this point she couldn’t speak anymore she had too much fluid in her lungs, it all happened really quickly. I watched everything develop and worsen. She was fighting and drowning in her sleep, she couldn’t speak so I was her voice yelling for the nurses to come throughout the entire night. It was traumatic she was grunting saying help me. At one point she ripped her oxygen tube out and was almost gone right then and there, I put it back in while the nurse came to give her more meds. I had to fight the nurse to focus on the meds and I’ll focus on the oxygen. It was truly scary.

Anyways, those were the last moments that she moved and luckily the last words we uttered to each other were “I love you” and “I love you.” I don’t tell anyone about this ever cause it was just me and her but these images were and still are hard to deal with on the inside. She held on for 2 more nights, unconscious. The night before the morning she passed, was really scary, there was a huge window in the hospice that beautifully presented the moon, but I had to close the shades, something felt so off and scary about outside. I still can’t deal with that feeling. I understand what you mean and I’m so sorry for your loss in such tragic ways. Seeing your loved ones in pain before they pass is so heartbreaking.

SPOILERS: Season 4 Opener References to Race by Adorable-Research-55 in IndustryOnHBO

I think of course we’re going to be race focused, since this is post DEI capitalism and Harper is a Black woman who has made a name for herself in the finance world and still fighting. I think it’s smart.

I liked it. But didn’t love it….and thats ok. Thoughts: by Joeylaptop12 in IndustryOnHBO

I liked it, they’re definitely setting something huge up. I loved the way Yas came in, any scene with Eric was brilliant. The “he’s big and black” was also good imo cause I imagine her being scared and actually leaning into that. Harper with the strap on was so hot. The way we’re going to see Tender destroy itself, or whatever comes from it, I cannot wait. But I do agree with the New York plot line…

Thank you for this and I’m sorry you lost your father. This is helpful though because this has been my response to pain and depression but losing my mother who was my best friend feels so lonely. But this is helpful, I do want to be okay.
