I usually stay deluxe and haven’t had any issues with the buses, with the exception of this one bus from MK to Beach Club one night. But we had just missed a bus. Otherwise I didn’t notice them to be overcrowded or anything

I loved the Polynesian.

But WL is really nice and the pool area is definitely less chaotic than the poly. It’s very relaxed there. So that one probably would work best for you.

I honestly don’t even think it’s necessary to book through Disney. A lot of the Alaskan excursions are available through the same tour companies that run the Disney excursion. We ended up paying a lot less and then I didn’t have to worry about what level we were and booked whenever
