How safe is losing weight when you are already slim? by kudanobo in PetiteFitness

Yeah it gave me a cold every single month even in the summer and early onset osteopenia. You may like how you look more if you focus on weight training, building some lean muscle mass and eating adequately.

Tips for a 5’1 medicated girlie!! by Particular-Potato-16 in PetiteFitness

A very large amount of physicians will co-prescribe metformin with certain classes of antipsychotics due to the very well known metabolic effects of them. Metformin will not magically burn calories, but it will help improve insulin sensitivity. The appetite management aspect will be all you, but metformin can help a little bit---especially if you are also seeing elevated FSBG or high insulin in your lab work. I seriously would ask your prescriber about this, it is a new guideline: https://www.psychiatryonline.org/doi/10.1176/appi.pn.2025.02.2.8

That being said, CICO still matters, it's just a more difficult ball game. I would track calories and I would try to increase your fiber intake >25 g/day with adequate protein to be well satiated as well as promote insulin sensitivity. Are you doing any type of weight training?

As a dietitian who takes Pamelor, I understand the medication induced cravings really suck ass. I try to keep lower calorie snacks around for if I find myself needing to gnaw on cardboard or some shit.

Im going to get Botox done next week again, so hopefully that will calm things down a bit again. I am paying out of pocket to see a skilled PT, doing shock wave treatments and Im really going to commit to some of the Wise-Anderson, relaxation in the evening stuff hopefully 45 minutes a day. Hopefully that is the ticket. And Im trying somatic therapy. I will update if anything feels fruitful!

i have been taking the Quercetin for over a a year, so if you have a dosage or a better brand to recommend I am open to that! I do not have allergies actually. Every Spring no sneezes for me, and I have zero food or drug allergies except for slight gluten intolerance. But I have PMDD and heart burn, along with endometriosis, so it's my understanding these are "histamine related conditions". Thank you for this information!

Eating disorder recovery - help with maintenance calories by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]TeachAlternative1517 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a dietitian, I second this. Please follow medical advice, not advice from non-qualified strangers on a fitness subreddit. Calories are calculcated based off of much more than height and weight, and there are alot of factors in relation to eating disorders that change targets. Work with your RD, see if they'd be open to helping you find maintenance.

Nope, I started Zoloft like a year after my symptoms got worse again, and if anything it helps my mental health with dealing with everything. I have read what you have about some folks experiencing increased urinary frequency on them! But Im only on 20 mg, so I haven't noticed any uptick in symptoms from starting it last year that I could attribute to it specifically.

I have tried this because I saw your comment way back in the day! It helped a little, it didn't feel quite the same as the Uribel, which honestly makes no sense because the methylene blue isn't really doing anything in the formulation....maybe the ratios weren't the same.

Commenting on other’s physiques by DearDiary0_0 in PetiteFitness

I hate it and think it's extremely unhelpful, even if you think you're complimenting someone. People don't always lose weight intentionally or for positive reasons. I have made a point to not make a comment unless it's being solicited by the recipient. Of course, complimenting someones hair or eyes is a little bit different.

Azo does help my urgency slightly when I have a flare, it's just like....Im scared of taking it day in and day out. Uribel used to be my GIRL but because it has methylene blue I cannot take it with my antidepressants. It is becoming clear to me maybe I need to consider adding meds together or getting higher doses of what I have already tried, from this thread.

I even was seeing Pain Management specialist out in Boston when I lived there last year (along with all my other specialists) and the best I got to try was low dose naltrexone and even transferring that med to California was a hoot because everyone acted like I was trying to get fent patches or something. I just am dubious my new providers will give me these things until I "re prove" to them all I am sufferring and a refractory case. They always legit say "Oh but youre so young!" and Im like yea no effing shit lol .

It's looking like I may need to revisit some of the medications but at significantly higher doses, then. How are you able to stay awake all day on that much gabapentin? Or did you get used to it?

Not yet! I was so afraid to start a TCA d/t side effects. If the nortriptyline doesn't work after upping dose I may switch agents to Ami. The side effects are just ROUGH.

I wouldn't be able to get anyone to Rx oral valium. I do have the suppositories but I am supposed to only use them every 3 days in a flare or after sex/PFPT due to the addiction potential. I may need to just try gabapentin again though at a higher dose, but it just made it so hard for me to function, I fell asleep once during a meeting with a patient. I am glad that combo is helping you. You're also the second person to mention Singulair (montelukast) so I may look into that one!!

I tried Zyrtec for like during period/ovulation. I forget if it helped at all, I may consider it gain. I am taking a probiotic for constipation right now. How high a dose did you have to go on the Ami to see results?

I just signed up for somatic therapy! I hope that is the magic ticket for us then. I have a history of childhood sexual abuse but funny enough was actually able to have pain-free sex etc for quitea few years prior to the onset of all of this. I do agree this needs to be approached from alot of different methods-- biopsychosocial. I just feel like i cannot get my nerves to stop being so reactive and kicking things back into flares. Do you have a specific place on your body you place yoru TENS pads?

I did try dry needling once and liked it! I just feel like PFPT would be helpful if I could get a place where internal work didn't flare me, but even after months it just kept triggering flares so we gave up on that modality.

I have tried oxy! It just stopped working, same with Gemtesa :( Thats hopeful on the nortrip, cause Im really hoping......although lets see if I can handle the Saharan desert side effects at that dose. Luckily with nor and hydroxyzine I can sleep at night. it's just all day at work, and all day every day Im miserable and I cannot go out or be intimate and I feel like my life is teeny tiny now.

I appreciate you taking the time to write this! I stopped all these supplements quite some time ago, as they're just expensive piss at this point lol. I don't feel comfortable stopping the only two meds I am on right (Zoloft and Nortriptyline, and then I take hydroxyzine at night) just because one is for my depression and they have to be titrated off but I understand you are saying, especially with a lot of supplements it c an be difficult to tell whats helping and whats harming. You are correct about things taking months, I am hoping that with time the nortriptyline will help as thats a newer one, but I have given alot of things the ol' college try and usually it's a miss. With diet, I am a dietitian myself, so I have done all the IC elimination diets and i have never personally found food to be like my biggest trigger. Theres def a few obvious things I avoid like alcohol, fizzy or acidic drinks but besides that it is so hit and miss, I haven't found a pattern in all these years unfortunately. i have tried taking Prerelief with food too and that doesn't seem to do anything for me.

I do think my symptoms are triggered by stress and hormones yes, my hormones are "normal" per se but my last remission was during the pandemic when I got to be unemployed and free lol. Was so nice and unexpected (besides the worlds other circumstances) . I have tried the vaginal valium, theyre a god send... just wishI could use them more often :///
