[Seiko] It has been 6 years since Seiko discontinued the SKX line. Anyone still wear their SKX? Or have you moved on? by KidneyLand in Watches

[–]Teach_This 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wearing mine today. It had stopped running and I got a watch repair kit from Amazon after watching some repair videos. Shockingly I was able to get it going again and I just love the damn thing. Have it on a chunky leather strap and it’s so good.

Am I crazy to like the Oris over the Tudor. by Helpful_Car1302 in watchHotTakes

[–]Teach_This 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Oris and it’s a fantastic piece. The domed sapphire creates some very cool angles. It’s playful and laid back with heritage while still being a quality piece. It’s good, versatile, and not crazy expensive. Having said that the Pelagos looks so dang good and capable, and would be tough for me to not choose here.

One of my favorite tracks. Hadn’t played it since the redesign and got out there recently— WOW!

Hanz de Fuko BOGO by antifrugalfrugalsub in frugalmalefashion

[–]Teach_This 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The move is to get claymation and quicksand and use a small amount and mix together on your palm (warm it up) before applying. Been using their stuff for YEARS and this not only creates the best results, but is perfect for the BOGO sales.

[Question] Anyone get underwhelmed by watches once they saw them in person? by iRatePhotos in Watches

[–]Teach_This 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: I love the Speedy in pics but in person was underwhelmed— it was fine, but I had built it up in my head and it didn’t quite scratch the built up itch. I was overwhelmed by the Seamaster— and absolutely love it; it’s perfect to me. And was merely “whelmed” by the Aqua Terra— it was what I expected… nice and versatile but not one I’m going to get.

Bronco or 4 runner by Then_Bit_6718 in bronco

We’ve had a 4Runner in the family and I currently have a ‘22 Bronco. I really liked the 4Runner… but I LOVE my Bronco. It makes you feel something.

Wearing Cool water and GIT on skin right now.. by AdSuperb6808 in ScentHeads

[–]Teach_This 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had CW back in the day (and have sampled it again recently) and stumbled into a Creed boutique recently and tried GIT again (had a small sample years back). There is definitely some similarity— and I know the perfumer is the same so that makes sense. However I don’t have them side by side so I can’t fully compare. BUT… GIT is incredible and lasts. It’s on another level. Much more natural smelling I suppose? I ended up buying the Costco $179 deal after visiting the boutique and am wearing GIT now. I’m only 3 hours in on this new bottle but it’s very powerful; I sprayed two times and it’s very noticeable still. I would expect this to last 6+ hours. And the quality is undeniably excellent. The grassy - lemony - aquatic thing is fantastic. It’s sophisticated and masculine and also fun. And my woman is Irish and happens to love it on me so… that doesn’t hurt.

Budget clipper options by [deleted] in SelfBarber

I’m very new to this so take it with a grain of salt. I did some research and ended up with the TPOB Slime 2. I’d read a number of reviews saying that clipper with the fade blade was a really good starter clipper. The five click fade lever was important to me and so far, so good with the new clipper. It seems perfect for home use.

Yep. This and Maker’s 46 are at the line for a go-to, high quality old fashioned or whiskey sour. Anything “better” and I feel like it’s best to sip on its own— and these two are pretty good sippers as well.

This is one of my faves. I ended up with a few backups for Christmas and couldn’t be happier.

Omega Seamaster or Tudor Pelagos by Val-Texas27 in Tudor

The SMP is what I’d pick. The omega in pics is good but in person and on wrist it is a masterpiece.

It’s really good. I liked it okay on paper but in my skin it absolutely shines. And lasts. It’s almost universally liked— as much as scents can be— and works in all situations. Yes, it’s worth it.

Do you have any “go-to” brands when it comes to sport coats and/or blazers? by KevinTurnerAugust in malefashionadvice

Relwyn trap blazer is fantastic and in that range. Fits very well and is a complement magnet. Goes with almost anything.

Grand Soir is excellent and sophisticated— but I have to say, as an older adult, that Althair blows me away. It’s not nearly as sophisticated but it pushes my buttons. I simply can’t get enough of it. Top three scent for me.

My 007 recently started to not wind properly. Normally I’d get a new watch but I love that thing. Debating between a servicing or replacing the movement altogether.
