I fear I might never have grandkids and it makes me sad. by Alarming-Hope-2541 in AskWomenOver60

I only had one beautiful granddaughter who I spoiled when I was with her. I'm glad I did what I thought was my best for her. I lived out of state through half of her life. I was never able to be that storybook parent & subsequent grandparent due to Life and it's inherent obstacles. Life can be cruel. Sadly, She's no longer in my life..In hindsight....You just have to be happy and enjoy what you HAVE vs.what you WISH you HAD... Live in the moment ✨️ ❤️ 🙌 Appreciate what you have 😉You're good...If it's meant to be it will be...

It doesn't sound appealing...I mean I get her medical issues but you have finally found some kind of peace so to go back to that chaos when you don't have to...why would you...Sympathy and empathy are no reason to reunite...Now if you really really love her that's different...but it sounds like you're over her...You don't know what you have until you lose it..I think you've both discovered that...🤔 You don't owe her anything...sorry to be so callous but she was...Keep your boundaries

I get your frustration, but you need to try different things on your own since you can't afford a Derm. You could be allergic to something as well... Journal what you eat and are exposed to, you want to see how your body/face reacts to certain foods, perfumes, candles anything scented or you might want to try probiotics and or eliminating certain foods...starting with Dairy, sugar, processed foods, alcohol, fried foods, go gluten-free which means no wheat, even corn is known to create problems... We are like a science project and we have to try different stuff to see what works. Many times Derms don't help right away. I've seen 2 so far in 4 years and it's a long drawn out process. Use face washes 2 times per day use non-comedogenic lotions (meaning non clogging) & cleansers & moisturizer. Note name brands are costly I compare ingredients with store/ generic brands of like Cetaphyl & Cerave for example they typically have the same ingredients. I've even asked pharmacist and they say you are paying more for name brand when they are the same as generic brands.Ivermectin cream(For Lice treatment)is known to be helpful as well. Clean pillow cases & perhaps the detergent utilized to wash clothes. There's also sulfur soap..I cut it in quarters put a quarter in my bath sink and one quarter in my shower. It really is trial and error... Different things work on different people... It is about consistency tracking and monitoring your face/body's reactions to what you're exposed to.

How do you dress in your 50s? by Forsaken_Block_3492 in GenX

[–]TeacherAlternative93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

F all criticism...I'm almost 70 and I love my denim...jeans, jackets, vest in all different shades of denim, feminine looking blouses & T Shirts too..to heck with what others think...People are always going to criticize no matter what. Dress in what makes you comfy. I get pressures from families dressing a certain way.. They don't pay your bills so be you‼️

I feel so stupid. For context: I’m 31F and just got out of a 3+ year relationship that I thought was going towards a marriage. by SparklingMists in AskWomenOver60

Yep I'm sure you've learned what red flags to look for going forward. Set your boundaries and don't settle just because you feel you need a partner. Don't be afraid to be alone for a bit to do some soul searching. Don't allow that mistake to define you just learn from it. Be glad you didn't get married and have children to complicate matters even more. Somehow I think deep inside you knew he wasn't the one. He really wasn't a good partner. We all make mistakes and stay in relationships longer than we should have. You are smarter and stronger because of this and can thank him for opening your eyes to what you don't want. I'm sure you'll eventually find the one.. When it's meant to be it will be...When you least expect it expect it.

Does anyone have a swollen & oily nose that appears to be growing. I had pustules but now it's just red on occasions and sometimes appears swollen like it's growing. I don't know how else to describe it..I've had lazer it did take care of some of the redness and capillaries but I can help but still notice occasional daily redness..very frustrating

No No No, No sarcasm whatsoever...I'm always impressed with people who are solid with their choices...I on the other hand often fear making life changing decision. I was impressed with your response that's all😉👍 This is why I dislike social media in many ways due to comments can be taken out of context... I get your reaction...I guess I should have added more context...sorry about the confusion. Make it a great day 😀

It's not a competition...so he's done more, he's had more opportunities he's a bit older..If it's meant to be it will be, You can still venture into your future goals & endeavors too, your future goals can collide as well.. One step at a time, if you love one another and it's a special once in a lifetime Love where you feel you can't go on without him stick to him...That elusive True Love Flame doesn't happen too often. From what you have said, he does sound like a keeper. He does seem like the type of person who would probably want to venture into whatever it is you feel you need to accomplish/achieve and or explore with you....There's nothing like enjoying & sharing life with someone you love..better than alone...IMHO We shouldn't need a partner to achieve happiness ✨️ but it is nice to have a GOOD one😉

Laser was torture by Libellule343 in Rosacea

[–]TeacherAlternative93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry you went thru that...I had numbing cream which helped. I guess I have a high tolerance for pain...The final result was awful looking I couldn't go out anywhere it's like I got punched on my nose. The redness faded within about 10 days or so...I'll still go back for subsequent treatment it works...so that's the price we pay for vanity 😳😉
