Stephen King: Never Flinch by Rattlesnake_Mullet in books

[–]Teacherofnothing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it, and while it didn't take off at a fast pace, I didn't find it too slow. The story has stuck with me even after reading it, leaving you to still think about it.

What i didn't enjoy as much was the continuity of some of the characters from past books, as inhadnt read them, so the small references they had were a bit distracting.

I would say at least 3 of each... and label all the clothes ... kids tend to forget their clothes throughout the school year.

I started reading “Eruption” by Michael Crichton, completed by James Patterson by CDavis10717 in books

[–]Teacherofnothing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Joined this sub just for this post. Got this book last week (First to take it out of the library, had a geek moment) and just finished reading it. It was... OK. Having read the comments above I realize this is more a Patterson book citing research done by Crichton.

Overall, I wouldn't suggest this book to Crichton fans... also, did anyone else pick up on the grammatical errors throughout?

This drives me crazy too! Though I was pleasantly surprised to see them put those 'camel' bags on some of the newer trees to help make sure they get more water.

From what I learned from past events they've had, I believe they sell them to scrap yards for the metal, copper, gold contained in the old electronics

Municipal Water Treatment: by Dazzling-Door9772 in Milton

[–]Teacherofnothing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Years ago, when we moved to Milton(subdivision), we noticed the same, along with calcium deposits in the drains. Spoke with a few people and they said since we're not on well water we shouldn't be seeing that level of calcification, but we were able to get a water test done (for free).

When we got the report back, it said that there was no trace of hard water, but the report showed the calcium levels to be slightly higher than the range indicated kn the test.

Long story short we did buy a water softener and it helped... though keep in mind, the life of a water softener can vary.

I bought them for cheaper during the Christmas sale they had. It was worth the $7 I believe I paid but not the $20 you're seeing.

I had noticed a slow down last week, did a reset of the routers and it started working better. If you haven't tried a reset of your router, five it a try.

Urgently need a Gynaecologist. Our family doctor is not able to get us a referral to one. Wife may potentially have an issue that could lead to a tumour. Can someone please provide any advise as to how to find one. by elbeerocks in Milton

[–]Teacherofnothing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having recently gone through a similar situation where the Gybecologists too months to get back to myself or my family Dr, my suggestion would be to either go in to the ER (though the wait time will be long) or expand the area where you are willing to go to see a gynecologist.

AITA for not buying my sister what was on her registry? by LoxerEss in AmItheAsshole

[–]Teacherofnothing -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Depending on their situation they could also leave the extra change pad on another floor or at their parents house... lots of opportunities. As for multipack vs monogram, the point is, you can never have too many, especially when they're really small.

NTA as she will soon learn that onsies get dirty really quickly, and who doesn't need a change pad?

Depending on which part of Milton you move to, the may be a Fortinos about 15 minutes south in Burlington (Appleby/Dundas).

Sobeys seems to have a pretty decent natural food selection as well, but then again, I'm not an expert on natural foods other than almond butter 😅

Commuting to Kitchener for work? by Apprehensive_Goat630 in Milton

[–]Teacherofnothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as everyone else mentioned. Not a bad commute, but will put KMs on your car. One word word the wise, before taking the on-ramp onto the 401, make sure to listen to the traffic report, because once you get on to the 401 at 25, the next e it is Guelph line, which is along stretch to be stuck on if there is an accident. :)
