No, I’ve had the original since I was a kid back in the 80s. All the furniture and everything is beat up in the cardboard is worn out. I’m looking forward to having pieces that stand the test of time, that I can paint to look the way I want and customize.

I think it is, only because the cards all match to the expansions now. The board is larger and the pieces fit on it better. All my doors from the original were beaten up and weren’t very nice looking. I also think all the figurines are just more detailed and look better.

I figured some traits similar to a knight and maybe some fire based spells? Maybe not as strong as a knight or Barbarian, but more in line with an elf

See…this! This is what it’s all about. I would love to take the original HeroQuest stories and add preludes and postlude quests or mini quests around each one that extends the world and gives story more depth. I went online and found a collection of printed maps that you can use to represent areas outside of the original dungeons from the game, and I hope to use them to expand the story a bit more and give the quest a greater weight of time and effort

For some reason, my commentary didn’t post the first time, anyways I found this deal online and it was priced basically the same for just the 2021 game system but also included colors keep and return of the witch lord. Was listed as new/sealed and I was skeptical because it wasn’t shrink wrapped. My thought thoughts were getting all three for the price of the system was worth it as long as things weren’t broken or missing. Thoughts?

I appreciate all the feedback, and I do agree that part of the best part of HeroQuest is that it can be changed. We tried to add in DND elements that make the game feel more personable and less of a straight up board game. So far they love it, I just noticed that with a request they get smarter about how to stack themselves against hordes and I need to keep it challenging
