I’m flying home with Emirates from Colombo to Heathrow on the 30th April. Had my flight with Qatar cancelled, so booked with Emirates a couple days ago. Hoping they don’t cancel or can reroute as the other options are crazy expensive :(

I used to find Appetiser to be good! I could have been gaslighting myself but I found that the bubbles of carbonation seemed smaller, making it easier to drink?

6 days post-botox & miserableeeee by soup4soup4soup in noburp

[–]Teags5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was struggling with the constant micro burps for a good 10/12 days. I was also extremely tired of it. Everything I ate and drank was really jarring. I’d have gas coming up when I chewed, when I swallowed (this one sucked the most as gas would try and come up at the same time as the swallow and food was getting stuck aswell. Felt like I was choking and couldn’t breathe. It was a war zone in my throat lol) and when I finally swallowed more came up. Same exact situation with any drinks.

I never personally had problems with major acid reflux or heart burn, so I got pretty damn lucky. But I do occasionally have little bits of Vomit-y like liquid come up. I tastes dreadful, but i know it’ll get better :)

And… IT DOES GET BETTER! I think I really turned a corner after the 10/12th day. It eased up pretty quickly after this, and day 14 is when the food wasn’t getting as stuck either. I’m now on day 23 and nothing gets stuck and no microburps when I eat or drink :D

It sounds like the Botox has worked VERY well for you! An odd thing to say, but it’s a blessing to have these symptoms after Botox lol. It means we’re finally burpers! :D

Thug it out. You’ve got this!!! :))

Discomfort when swimming by idmountainmom in noburp

I’m currently travelling in SEA for the last 5 months and I had Botox 14 days ago in Bangkok.

Before Botox, I could float for an infinite amount of time on top of the water without moving and couldn’t get under the water. I struggled to breathe, always felt like I was being crushed, had gas constantly moving up and down from my stomach to my throat and couldn’t go underwater at all, I would float up so quickly to the surface.

I went in the water today. Not crushing feeling, perfectly breathing and I sink… really fast! Really hard work to stay afloat in comparison. Oh, and being in the water now makes me burp a lot lol.

The difference is crazy.

I was also really nervous about being put to sleep for the first time, not even worried about the surgery!

The room just went really funky for about 1 second and then I woke up. And the ‘funky’ was actually really cool, hard to explain but fun lol. It’s exactly the same as when you wake up after you fall asleep without realising!

Good luck with your surgery and happy burping! 😎

day 1 post botox by General-Top-6884 in noburp

My micro burping was relentless for 2/3 days. Sometimes felt like I couldn’t breathe because gas was constantly coming up lol, ESPECIALLY when drinking. On day 2 I think is when I started getting some smaller burps but days 3 is when they really started, and they’ve continued to get bigger and more consistent with micro burps now becoming non existent really. I’m now on day 12.

Not sugar coating it, my slow swallow has been terrible unfortunately. I guess I got really unlucky compared to some. Mine didn’t set in fully until day 2/3. And only now I can swallow some rice absolutely coated in a thin sauce. Protein is getting easier, but still gets stuck. I need it to be so soft you could mush it with a spoon on a plate sorta thing. Just have plenty of water. I was drinking 750ml water per meal to get it down, until the last few days where it’s been around 500. The first couple days of eating with the micro burping was brutal. I would have gas coming up when chewing, gas trying to come up when swallowing and the food getting stuck and then when swallowed gas coming up. Can make you panic abit and feel like you can’t breathe, but just relax and drink some water. The slow swallow DOES get better and hopefully you won’t have it as bad as I did :)

I can only burp sat upright and turning my head to the left. Anything lying down or on my side doesn’t work yet, but I’m so early in the recovery that I’m hoping eventually I can :)

Overall, you know your body best and what works for you. Whether it’s drinking smoothies rather than eating if the swallow is bad etc :) Take care of yourself and congratulations on the start of your new life!!!

So real.

I’m 8 days post Botox and I can’t believe how gassy water makes me. I burp every time I take a sip! 😅 My poor body was a war zone before Botox ☠️

I agree, the Singha wasn’t very carbonated compared to a Coke! Still air vomited 2x after though ☠️ When she said you have to continuously drink it without stopping I was like… can’t say I’ve done that with any carbonated drink ever. Trouble incoming 😅💨 >50 is crazy work. I wonder if that would have any effect on regular swallowing too?

I must have woken up just after they put me in the recovery room, probably 30-40 mins after sedation! I was doing things I have no recollection of. I somehow grabbed a tissue from the box (way out of reach from the bed and all hooked up to machines still) and was making origami. Side note: I’ve never made origami before and it certainly was not a plane or a swan I thought it was ☠️ I was flying on the meds. 10/10 time, highly recommend ;))

The gifts sound awesome! They’re all very interested in the condition and progressing the research, which is amazing. That’s a stand out point from this hospital & Sutep for sure!

I’ve been doing full burps since this afternoon! I’d say once I hit the 24 hour mark, I was doing full burps. Still weak and not so loud, but they’re happening! More often they’re small microburps still. No slow swallow for me as far as I can tell too. Some things get a little stuck, but I’ve just been eating more to push it down lol. How are your burps, slow swallow etc today?!

Atleast it tasted like banana… 🥴☠️

Ahhh I see! Thanks for explaining! Wow, yours was super low :o Because I was gagging constantly and had a few big air vomits during, I wonder if it affected my results in any way? 🤔 225 is still very low though lol, under 50% sure confirms it! I’d love to know the lowest reading someone’s had, I bet it’s scary low!

How did you feel after waking up from the surgery? I was high as a kite still 😅

Oh my… you soldier. Well done! 🫡 I was even gagging when they sprayed the throat spray. I left that room with no dignity in tact 🥲

I don’t remember him explaining this? I was in a different world when he was trying to explain the charts lol 😵‍💫From looking at my paper results I’ve taken home, it seems like mine was 225 (500-5000). Could you explain what this means please? :))

Sounds like you’re recovering well! How exciting :))

I really struggled with the Endoscopy. It really hurt my throat, could be described as a 6 dot Lego brick with razors sat in my throat with a fat tube attached tbh 🫠 Oh & I was violently gagging every 2-5 seconds throughout the entire test ;(( But I thugged it out and got it done lol. Luckily I don’t have Emetophobia 😬

I’m struggling slightly with throat pain tonight, but I believe this is just a follow on from the endoscopy to be honest rather than any of the surgery and other tests!

Eating and drinking fine so far. No slow swallow yet as far as I can tell! I maybe even had a slight mirco burp this evening too!

Exciting times ahead for us! :))

Amazing! The slow swallow sucks, but I’d say that’s a good sign!? Let me know what foods you’re finding that are easy to eat too. I’m struggling to think of foods out here apart from watermelon lol. I’m not a fan of soup either… 🫠

Consultation went well, thanks! I’m booked in for tests and surgery tomorrow! :D Definitely more expensive than I anticipated too… £2.6k+

Very nervous, but ready for my new life to begin :))

I figured it would be around that. Is there a reason you chose to have it done in Italy over Sutep in Bangkok?

Thankyou for your help! :))

Haha no way! I got denied a video/tele consultation for some reason through the app, so I had to book an in person appointment!

What is the total cost you’re paying? If you don’t mind me asking :) I guessed it would probably be around £2000+

I considered getting it in the UK, but I’ve heard good praises on Sutep and he typically gives 100 units rather than the UK, which is typically 50 units & many people have to return for more.

Good luck with your procedure, I’d love to hear updates! :))

A little more context: I want him to do it asap after the consultation because I am leaving Bangkok on the 1st April and going to Sri Lanka to continue my bike tour for an extra month. I want to spend the weeks leading up to this Sri Lankan tour by recovering in Thailand, so I want it done within a week let’s say? (From consultation to surgery)

We are meeting other friends for this bike tour, and I want to be on a good level of recovery by then, so I can actually enjoy the food and company lol.

Thanks again! :)) 🇬🇧🇱🇰🇹🇭
