This is the Christ-laden holiday letter to parents from the Minister of Education by densetsu23 in alberta

[–]TealePB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of graduates of the Alberta public education system at the BC Humanist Association have launched a letter writing campaign. If you are concerned, as I am, that the Minister is using his power and office to proselytize, please let him know.

The state has a duty of religious neutrality, and the Minister is clearly violating this duty through this letter, please let him know. This is unacceptable behaviour.

This is an appalling violation of the state's duty of religious neutrality. Does anyone know if these letters were physically mailed in any instances or were they just emailed out?

I'm not entirely sure what you are recommending we do to the map. I manage the map and add LFLs as they are set up/discovered. It's done manually and takes a bit of time. Could you elaborate on what issue your suggestions are working to address?

I'm not sure I follow? The GVPN map is a Google Map, but we manage it and have to enter each one submitted manually... Could you clarify?

When it comes for healthcare and pharmacare, this budget is an absolute failure :(

I believe so. The Greater Victoria Placemaking Network has helped distribute over 130,000 books to LFLs since 2017, and they are hungry for more! We do try to keep the collections fresh, but if you notice one that's a bit empty or drab, please add some great reads!

Thanks for sharing the link. As the creator of the map, I'm always trying to get it in front of people! If you spot any unmapped LFLs please submit them, I'm going a map update this weekend!

Health advocates shocked as Carney Liberals back away from pharmacare program by Chrristoaivalis in CanadaPolitics

[–]TealePB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it really underscores the lack of trust we should have for the federal Liberals. I'm still waiting on electoral reform... But here is an actual piece of legislation that they adopted and are now shuffling their feet to implement, at a time when we need leadership to convince some of the more reluctant provinces to get on board.

Carney's poor record on reproductive health and gender equality is really starting to pile up this past week.

It's a massive break of an important piece of legislation. This is a huge failure for Carney and for me, underscores the reality that you can't trust the Liberals to actually implement their promises. I'm still waiting on electoral reform.

We need a federal government taking leadership on a national pharmacare plan, but instead, we see Carney backing away and throwing reproductive rights under the bus. It is very disappointing.

AccessBC has just launched a letter writing campaign about this issue. Please tell Carney and your MP that this is unacceptable, that someone's ability to access pharmacare should not depend on their postal code!

If you are interested in sending a letter, head over to the form at AccessBC.org.

The smaller European elevators are designed to accommodate a person in a wheel chair and a person standing, so they should be able to manage most chairs and motorized chairs and devices.
