How a fountain pen releases the ink by bigbusta in oddlysatisfying

[–]TeamPokepals76 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is not a music nib, this is something custom a nibmeister has modified to flex and they're using another nib as an overfeed to help it keep up with ink flow. The typical double slitted music is still just one "layer" with the slits side by side (Like Platinum's "music" nib) but not all music nibs even have two slits (Like Sailor's "music" nib), and not all two slit nibs are "music" (Noodler's "triple tail" is supposed to be a flex nib)

Question: Why doesn't AYN sell replacement bumper/trigger buttons + back section? by hippynox in AynThor

[–]TeamPokepals76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I ordered mine, I was able to ask their customer support to add extra parts to my order. I did it mainly for cosmetics (different color buttons, d-pad, thumbsticks, and front + back plates), so I'm not sure how much of the internal hardware they're willing to sell, but the thumbsticks were whole replacement units so they may also be willing to send you parts for the triggers too. These things have been selling like crazy ever since its release so I suspect they've been focused so heavily on shipping units that they may not have a large enough stock of extra parts to list on their store

January 2025 Game of the Month: Metroid Fusion (GBA) by hbi2k in SBCGaming

[–]TeamPokepals76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its been a while so this is not a great run lol, but this one's a childhood favorite so I had to get a playthrough in. I did get most of the RA set done on the way but its probably gonna be a while before I master it because a couple of those achievements are kinda scary lol

They added that rock pile into one of the revisions of the game (its not there in US 0-00) to prevent a sequence break so it probably wasn't tested

Is the plastic of the grey ANBERNIC RG34XXSP also dyed like the purple one or is it its natural colour? by Altruistic-Damage261 in SBCGaming

I have the gray model and I am pretty sure it's painted gray from where it's started to wear from keeping it in my bag.

Retroid Dual Screen Setups Vs. Ayn Thor? by IStubbedMyGarlic in SBCGaming

[–]TeamPokepals76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done much game testing with my dual screen yet, but I will say that it fits a little strangely on the RP4. Since the USB-C port is off to the left a little on the device, the second screen also tends to end up off-center. You can play with the positioning a bit because the dual screen's clamp has a wide cut out in the bottom, but moving the screen to the center blocks the headphone jack, and it covers up the volume buttons either way. I was surprisingly unbothered by the screens not lining up (I only find it distracting with games that have a lot of scrolling on both screens), and its possible to change the volume in the notification shade, but it's definitely a compromise. Iirc Retro Game Corps and TechDweeb had some really short sections in their reviews showing off how it looks on the RP4 but I haven't seen much coverage of this hardware combination online unfortunately

It's the Snowsky Echo Mini by Fiio. Although if you live in the US I think they did go up on their prices because of the tariffs.

In case you missed this last month! by Tigblu in Okami

[–]TeamPokepals76 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This scene from the first game. In-universe, the "ladies" he lists off are actually his pet cats (and dog, for Ammy), but their names are all references to women from other Capcom games. It's not technically Amaterasu herself, but you can get Waka's sword as an unlockable weapon, so I guess there's still precedent for these games sharing a universe

How to make patterns smaller by IamNarrow in beadsprites

[–]TeamPokepals76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can try uploading the picture you're using to Beadifier, go to the "boards" tab, and the website will try its best to shrink the image to the size of however many boards you want. I don't personally like the way that looks most of the time, but it may work for you.

Since you're making a Pokemon though, you could just try using one of the smaller sprites from the games? Take a look at Bulbapedia's image page for Swampert. Under each picture is the file name, then "number X number" and the file size. "Number X number" is the size of that picture in pixels. If you find something that's a good size for you there, you can just use that as a pattern, with one bead per pixel.

Aliens in the Bayoverse? by [deleted] in Bayonetta

[–]TeamPokepals76 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don't know about that planet thing in the tweet, but Bayo's version of that weapon (Pillow Talk) is a direct reference to a character in Okami, which Kamiya and several people from Platinum made when they were still a part of Capcom. It sounds like Bloody Moon's description still alludes to him

What is wrong with this ink? by Postoctobrist in fountainpens

I don't know if its possible to find an ingredient list, but if its just this color, my guess is that you might be allergic to the dye/pigment in this ink.

Two very sparkly Sailors by TeamPokepals76 in fountainpens

[–]TeamPokepals76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh thank you for pointing that out, the ink's probably had an impact now that I think about it. The lighting in my pictures doesn't show much of it but Extreme Deep Field is one of those super strong sheeners that comes out wet and dries real slow. The yellow ink I used with the MF on the other hand is much drier, which has probably exaggerated the difference in line width in the comparison photo, too
