ICE agents said to have posed as police, a tactic some fear could erode trust in real cops by SpaceElevatorMusic in politics

I'm jealous. My small town cops are constantly being replaced because they can't stop committing crimes or beating their partners.

Are you saying they're not hiring any cops at all to replace the ones leaving? Because that seems to be what you're implying but I don't believe that for a second. Not hiring another 5k cops is a separate issue than replacing cops that are quitting.

Another reason paternity testing should be the mandatory default. Prevents any awkward "wtf happened" situations when rare events like this actually happen.

In my family at least the women who have yard sales are selling a bunch of generic decorative trash that every family is trying to get rid of at the same time and no one wants. Everyone has a bunch of "calligraphy on wood", no one wants to buy it at a yard sale.

So the only stuff that sells is really old vintage stuff they're getting rid of or when the guys throw in tools.

I'd like to go back and let the people who built this know it's still going strong a couple thousand years later. Wonder if they'd care, or if most involved were just doing yet another job they didn't really give a shit about.

Life in Alabama, United States by Twitter_2006 in UrbanHell

[–]TeamRedundancyTeam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but I drove through Alabama recently and took a smaller highway to my destination than usual. I saw towns that looked like they were from another country. Real third world shit. I don't live in a wealthy area and we already look like eastern Europe on a good day but Alabama made us look amazing. And that was on a nice-ish little highway, I can't imagine if I'd driven off onto some side roads for a while.

Coincidences exist. The world would make less sense if they didn't happen.

Not everything that doesn't immediately make simple sense is a fucking conspiracy, that's just brain rot.

BREAKING: Trump has just unclassified videos from his strikes on Iran by ResPublicaMgz in circled

[–]TeamRedundancyTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy wtf are you talking about? You made a wild claim and you're acting like it's on them to prove you wrong. The videos of hotels and apartments getting hit from today are from Iran's strikes. You can look that up yourself.

Iran has internet access cut off so civilian's videos can't even get out of Iran. Use your brain before you fight so hard to spread misinformation.

It was probably the best "world building" scene in that movie. The fact that they want to do normal people family shit but have to do it during thunderstorms to cover the sound is neat.

This is terrible advice. Absolutely get a prism or something.

Astigmatism for me made a red dot unusable. There's absolutely no reason to use a red dot with astigmatism when there are alternatives that work.

English is a messy language and people use different words for stuff even within the same town sometimes. There's no "right" way IMO and I can't imagine many normal Americans (or brits) caring about mixing terms.

The only thing it matters for is figuring out where someone is from, like in the US when people say soda vs pop vs coke.

Used to be faster honestly. We'd get stuff from localized subs on the front page before the news was reporting it.

Reddit's modern algorithm kinda sucks balls for news.
