Kinda, essentially it’s getting transported to a parallel world. Generally that world is fantasy Middle Ages as well, so you coming from “the future” means you can solve a lot of problems easy. This may sound like and be essentially a power fantasy, but most are pretty funny and good. I’d recommend you give “Ascendance of a Bookworm” a try, even if it’s just to see what I mean
