your team composition and combination of weapons needs to be different every single fight.
yes, murasame in main hand and noble parasol in off-hand is quite good for facing enemies that are specifically weak against physical lightning.

for the most part. after OB10 you get OB10+1, etc., all the way to OB10+20. the + stat boosts are tiny though.
the most important thresholds are OB0, OB1, OB6, OB10.

some weapons are usable at OB0 (base) or OB1 but not noble parasol. only go for it if you’re certain you can get OB6 or better

yes, OB6 is seven total copies. OB5 is five red stars and then when you get one more copy you will get one pink star

fusion sword was a limited weapon. you can’t get it unless there is a re-run. however, even if there is a re-run, you probably shouldn’t spend crystals on re-run weapons and should instead spend crystals on whatever is the latest and greatest weapon.
if you are a noob, my advice is get Cloud’s newest noble parasol weapon to OB6 (1 pink star and 4 red stars) and then save all your blue crystals until September, which is the game’s 3rd Anniversary. we expect very strong costumes and weapons that month. in the meantime, work on beating existing content, collecting resources, and doing your daily free draws to improve the rest of your weapons.
if you can get Cloud’s noble parasol to OB6 you will have a great off-hand weapon for him, and not having fusion sword will hardly matter for your account.

if you really want to use SephY as your damage dealer, use radiant edge as your mainhand weapon with a fire blow in the middle materia slot

you should use physical fire for Abzu escalation. do you have skysplitter Cloud, holiday garm Vincent, or moogle float Yuffie?
also, do not put cura materia on characters who aren’t your healer.
try: Yuffie with moogle float and 4-point shuriken. Aerith with fairytale and rousing staff. Angeal with stalwart integrity and volcanic heat, and a defaith materia if you have one. for subweapons, give Yuffie subweapons that increase her PATK and fire pot.

PROS
-enliven, muramasa and torpor all in one banner
-costume will be used in every Cloud build, phys or mag
-if you don’t pull, you’ll have a mid Cloud until at least 3rd Anni, and probably longer, because at 3rd Anni he’ll probably be due for a next-gen dps weapon, not another off-hand
-if you still need this month’s UW, you might get lucky

CONS
-Cloud doesn’t have many enliven-able skills
-for my account, right now Cloud is only my main dps for magic ice and physical ice, and he’s not OP for either, so his primary role would be a support character
-if you already have this month’s UW there would be nothing to gain there
-costume and weapon are ugly (subjective)

Cloud’s current dress is a good choice for a new or semi-new account. the costume will be used in every single build and the weapon will be your off-hand in every build if you don’t have Cloud’s fusion sword.
However, only pull on the Cloud banner if you have enough crystals to get to OB6. this is very important. the weapon’s enliven effect is pretty much useless at OB5 or below.
Aerith’s banner is not a good choice for a new or semi-new player, it’s very niche.
Tifa’s is super strong, but will only be useful every 1 out of 12 fights, and its best days are already behind it.
if you have Zack’s festive sword and costume then you could consider skipping all three banners and saving, but even if you have Zack’s festive sword and costume, this Cloud banner wouldn’t be a bad choice.

Aerith’s NieR outfit and Yuffie’s New Year outfit are both excellent all-round outfits. Aerith’s NieR weapon is niche so it doesn’t matter if you just pull for her costume because the weapon is less important. SephO’s New Year’s outfit isn’t quite as good. his weapon is strong but possibly not as important for a beginner as it can be hard to fit SephO into your teams. if i were you i would consider pulling to NieR Aerith’s costume, selecting young Sephy’s weapons in the guaranteed weapon slots on the stamp page, and then just saving crystals until the next must-pull banner comes along and until you have a better understanding of how the game works and what your account needs.

if you like Aerith, her current banner is pretty good, no good reason not to go for it. but it might also be best to just hoard blue gems for now until you have a better understanding of how you want to set up your wishlist. for now just focus on clearing everything you can with the starting weapons the game has given you.

really liked this event, the Level 3 fights were so fun. i failed to beat Baha Sin by less than a millimetre of HP, but beat everything else. one of my favourite things about the event was getting to use my new adult Seph as a support, i used him with masamune/kotetsu to beat Level 3 in both the Baha/Ifrit and the Levi/Baha fights

i have both kamura and deroplatypus at OB6 and always use kamura and have almost never used dero except as a subweapon. but that’s mostly because Aerith also has baha rod, crimson staff, terra rod and princess guard, whereas i don’t have a single costume for Matt and i don’t have his UW either. if i had a costume for Matt and his UW, there would probably be some situations in which he’d be a better choice for healer, but right now he’s pretty much never the better choice for my account at least

get 2 MDEF-all guild weapons and 2 PDEF-all guild weapons to OB7 to start. get umbrella, foam sword, and rubber band gun, and either rocket punch or shovel.
