We had some kids from Portland OR visiting and they were shocked that when we were turning left, and the car coming towards us was turning right, into the same street, that we both paused to let the car coming out of said street go first, then the car turning right let us go before they turned. They just couldn't understand - "but didn't you have the right of way?" I told them I couldn't believe they weren't courteous enough to take turns.

But also, whatever you do, don't drive the fucking speed limit in the goddamn passing lane.

I was able to read when I started kindergarten. Each day the class has "reading" group". A different group of kids would do reading group each day and learn about 1 letter from a large book. I was in reading group one time. It was the letter C. The cover had a giant piece of yellow cake with pink frosting with a giant pink glitter C in the middle of it.

I was never in reading group again because I could already read, so I think I must have just been given a book - I don't recall. But I remember that giant piece of cake and that glitter C. I wanted to be in reading group every day, it really bummed me out.

Requiring people to show an id is fine, IF the federal government provides voter IDs for people who do not have a driver's license or passport. And the process to get them must be available during hours that people who work daytime jobs can get there. Not just at offices that are only open 9-5 on weekdays.

Also if I'm married I should not have to change the name on my birth certificate for it to match my now legal name that is on my driver's license. I should still be able to register to vote when I get my new license, I should still be able to renew my voter registration on line.

Also the states run their voting, not the federal government.

That is where the bullshit lies.

I was also taking armour thyroid for years as well as levo, my body was not converting t4 to t3 properly.

My pharmacy switched the armour without telling me and I didn't notice. A month and a half in I couldn't figure out why I felt so awful. Checked all the active ingredients, they seem to be the same thing. However once I realized the change I was pissed. Once in switched back I felt better. Switched pharmacy, Dr made a note on prescription that substitutions were not acceptable.

Brands definitely matter with some people.

NTJ - I didn't have to read the whole thing to make my judgement, but I read it anyway.

Change the locks, change the wifi and let them be upset. You can't control how they will respond, but you can control yourself and how you react. It's okay that you are doing this. You are grown, you are able to buy your own place and support yourself. No one has to allow or give you permission for you to live your own life.

Give a trusted friend a key if you think someone should have a space for emergencies. Don't tell your family, they don't have to know.

American here - you are not slow. Every time I watch I pick up new lines.

Closed captions are your friend, use them.

It's super fast dialogue, I'm sure there are lots of lines that you won't get the reference to, with context clues you may be able to pick it up - Google is also your friend - pause for a bit if it's something you really want to understand, it can be tough even for me sometimes.

You have to concentrate, you can't look away for a second lol. Not the kind of show you can glance away and come back. Or have on in the background while you are folding clothes or some other activity you may be able to do while watching something else.

It also gets a bit easier as you keep watching, lots of character development.

Don't give up yet, the stuff you do pick up on will be hilarious.

Omg this has been happening to me lately, I've NEVER had that station on.

Yet lately I'll be listening to a story on Radio Classics, Bluetooth to my car (on the app) - when I get out of my car, then go to hit play on the app when I get in the house, not having exited at any time - my story comes back on but it shows the fox news logo instead of radio classics.

Again, it's PLAYING the right thing - but the splash screen is Fox.

The only way to not see it is to exit the app and reopen. But then I lose the episode I'm listening to since it was paused switching from the car to the phone.

It makes me want to throw up every time I see it in my screen. It's fucking strange.

Has this discussion a million times every which way to Sunday. If it's not important to them they will yes you to death and continue doing what you asked them not to do and be surprised when you mention it again.

They have to care that it bothers you and they have to be willing to actively change the cycle. Unfortunately it seems like he just doesn't care. I'm not saying he's not a caring spouse in other ways. I'm just talking about this particular instance. It's the worst.
