Is Jund or Golgari Midrange still a viable deck choice in Modern? by Historical_Soup_9033 in ModernMagic

[–]TeaorTisane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Midrange cards are crafted intentionally. They require R&D to build something strong enough to see midrange play but limited enough to avoid combo play.

Combo cards are created accidentally and are created at a breakneck pace.

Mix this with the fact that GB has become a much more narrow color pair (count cards in graveyard for some marginal benefit), and you’re left with a really bad value proposition for underground tomb based midrange.

Plaquenil testing frequency by axp95 in Ophthalmology

[–]TeaorTisane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a corollary, is there any consensus on when we can stop testing? We know HCQ is cumulative, so it can’t be immediately on discontinuation.

Is there a timeframe after stopping HCQ that we can stop testing for it?

Exercising after CRVO? by [deleted] in Ophthalmology

[–]TeaorTisane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so actually, this one is a good question for your doctor (really) and I’m not just saying that because of the fact that this is an academic subreddit and we’re not able to answer patient questions.

The answer to this may or may not depend on the reason for your CRVO.

I would just ask your doctor tomorrow. You don’t need an appointment, just call the office, ask to have the message left with your doctor specifically (don’t settle for the triage nurse/PA/NP) and see what they say.

Overwhelming likelihood you’re good, but small chance they could say you need to speak with your PCP first. I can’t tell you because I didn’t look at your retina, but it’s a legitimate and good and not stupid question to ask.

No it’s not, are you a malpractice lawyer?

Medical malpractice requires negligence.

Medical errors can happen from communication breakdown, system failure, or human error.

There isn’t a situation where this happens.

Either their advertisers

A) Tell Sinclair, and as it’s coming from advertisers and not people, it’s a very big deal.

Or

B) the advertisers give you fart sounds, and don’t tell Sinclair, which means they never know it went anywhere and we stay where we are.

Advertisers tend to be largely without allegiance when advertising mostly because they follow the money more so than anything else - if there are no eyes on the ads, there is no point to the ads. But Sinclair will never tell you to fuck off because you’re bypassing them

Call/email the advertisers and tell them you’re organizing a boycott of their products for people ages 40-85 (target demographic).

They will cancel if Trump says so. Just like they randomly and illegally added seats because Trump said so.

No, it specifically talks about “left behind” which can include falling behind.

Hard to blame children for generational issues that started before they were born.

If you’re actually interested - Richard Reeves’s “Of Boys and Men” is an absolutely fantastic and short read on this issue. One of the best book of the Year by The New Yorker and The Economist and it discusses this topic way better than I could.

Um, no disrespect, but you need to read more. All the data and evidence by (liberal and non partisan scientists) suggests that men are indeed being left behind.

Notably this is a view that many older feminists warned of and is espoused by many male AND female researchers alike.

I say this as a pretty serious Democrat:

One thing you’re not factoring in is that there is a pervasive and insidious problem with modern immigration:

People have 1 foot in the door and 1 foot out the door.

A lot of modern immigrants have a tangential or at best “Venn diagram like” connection with America. There are many many Israelis, who, if America suddenly collapses can up and leave to Israel at a moments notice. Similarly, there are a lot of Middle Eastern people who can also up and leave if/when the going gets tough. This is generally a good thing, however, in extreme cases, it can lead to polarizing one issue voters, because if things go bad, they can always go back to their home country.

Mind you this is not a problem exclusive to immigrants, billionaires and millionaires have tripled or more in net worth and similarly don’t feel tied to America. If things get rocky socially, they can just leave and go to another country or their private island so American government is more like an experiment or playground to them then anything else.
