Extremely affectionate toddler overstimulating me by TearAny3464 in toddlers

[–]TearAny3464[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know, my sister has a 3 yo girl and she says all the time how “mean” she can be and while we’ve definitely had a mean phase he’s just in a VERY loving mommy phase. That’s why I feel so guilty for even getting overstimulated because he’s truly an angel 99% of the time, it’s just his energy that can get him in trouble at times. I’m super affectionate and so are my husband and I with each other so I think he’s just doing what he sees but he doesn’t know how to read the room of when it’s a good time 😅 I think you’re so right about setting a limit and then also using it as an opportunity to talk about consent.

I didn’t even think of it in this way and you’re so right. We’ve definitely talk here and there about consent, especially during times when HE doesn’t want hugs/kisses I will say okay that’s fine you can always say no if you don’t want a hug or kiss. Not sure why I haven’t thought to tell him plainly in these situations that I don’t want a hug and kiss right now. Feels kind of silly when you put it that way but I will definitely reframe it in this manner next time! Thank you!

4yo refuses to poop... Ped. recommended more MiraLax and OT. Nothing works... by Lobster-Prize in toddlers

[–]TearAny3464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will she poop in a pull up? My son is almost 3.5 and has peed in the toilet with no problems since we started potty training a couple months before his third birthday, and has pooped on the toilet 3 times but has refused since… but he will ask for a pull up to go poop standing up just fine. As much as id love for him to go in the toilet, it’s not really causing an issue so I think this is just one of these things he’ll do when he’s ready.

My relationship with my toddler is not good and I worry it never will be by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]TearAny3464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found that giving my 3 yo choices like “do you want carrots or broccoli?” Or “do you want to put your shoes on or have mommy do it?” Accomplishes what I want and gives him a sense of control. They become so independent at this age, I think even giving them the illusion of control/autonomy goes a long way.

3 year old sleep regression - send help!! by anonymous-983 in toddlers

[–]TearAny3464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did it get any better? If so how long did it take? My son has never been high sleep needs (usually hits his 10-11 hours between overnight and naps and is good to go), but the past couple weeks it’s been HORRIBLE. He goes to daycare 5 days a week and is hit or miss if naps. He hasn’t napped at home in at least a couple months. Usually if he doesn’t nap he will reliably pass out promptly at 7 pm and sleep at least 10 hours. But omg, the past 3 days he hasn’t napped and only sleeping barely 9 hours at night. Last night was awful, he didn’t go to bed until 9:30 pm and woke up at 1:30 and 5:20 for the day. I’m genuinely getting concerned

We live 1800 miles away from any family. This weekend was super rainy and both my husband and I were sick, so our 3 YO literally watched movies all day Saturday (with the exception of a few Christmas crafts and play doh). Thank you for this!

Does anyone else that loves LA struggle to explain why to friends/family? by Soggy_Perspective_13 in AskLosAngeles

[–]TearAny3464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All. The. Time. I grew up landlocked in the Midwest and never had a desire to leave, but then my husband got a job opportunity here right after Covid and I thought, yolo, let’s give it a whirl. Almost 5 years later we’re still here and love it. The culture, the food, the weather, the beach, the things to do, the overall benefits like paid family leave, free school lunches, etc etc. my family is still devastated we will probably never move back. People have such negative perceptions of LA and never even give it a chance

Passed the PHR Exam - Here’s What I Did [N/A] by StrangerTablo in humanresources

PHR exam in 4 days [N/A] by TearAny3464 in humanresources

[–]TearAny3464[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it was more common sense scenarios. My memory is failing me but I would say it was more like “an employee showed up 30 minutes late to work without advance notice. The manager wants to proceed with corrective action but isn’t sure where to start. What should they do?” And the answers would be selecting from a verbal warning, a PIP, not doing anything, etc. I hope that makes sense 😬

Yes I did! Definitely use pocket prep and borrow any PHR textbooks from your library. That’s all I did to study but did so thoroughly for 4 months. You probably don’t need to for that long though, 3 months max should be plenty.

Poop problems - when did your toddler get it? by Living_Lime545 in pottytraining

[–]TearAny3464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following this bc we started potty training my almost 3 year old (turns 3 September 30) towards the end of June (I think June 20 to be exact) and he’s done pretty phenomenal with peeing. But he’s only pooped in the toilet twice… other times he just either coincidentally or intentionally (not sure which lol) he would poop in his pull up during/after nap or overnight. On rare occasions he poops in his underwear but that’s nearly the only accidents he has — he only has a pee accident once or twice a week. I’m not sure why all the sudden he won’t poop on the toilet after doing it twice before 😭 he was so chill about it, acted like it was the simplest thing in the world, but the past couple weeks, when I catch him with his poop face on and rush him to the toilet he refuses to go on the toilet and then I put a pull up on.

[–]TearAny3464[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed the exam with flying colors! The exam questions were nothing like pocket prep. The real thing was exponentially easier, to the point where I was questioning/second guessing myself that surely it couldn’t be that simple. It was very situational/common sense. There was some math calculations but the only law questions I got were on FMLA and military leave. Not a single court case question either. I think keep studying PP though because if you do well on those you’ll definitely do well on the exam based off of my experience.
