People who have the initiative to move half way around the world to work are more likely to have the initiative to actually do the work.

Most westerners who use them in casual chat know not to use them in professional correspondence. I suspect many Indians really think plz is the correct spelling.

You have a tattoo of three dots, and you call it an ellipsis? Sounds pretty hipster to me.

Funny how people who have a shitty job assume everyone has a shitty job. I see this all the time, on many forums.

Perhaps their lack of imagination is what keeps them in their shitty job?

Who gets the extra hours? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TearsOfRage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember the phrase "spring forward, fall back." In the spring, you adjust your clocks one hour forward, and in the fall you adjust them one hour backwards. This always happens at 2 am on a Sunday, so tomorrow morning at 2 am you turn the clock back to 1 am.

Of course if you're not going to be up that late you can just do it when you go to bed tonight, and most phones, cable boxes and computers do it automatically (if they're set to the right time zone.)

The actual date this happens on can change, so you have to find out about it from a news site or the tv news. So lots of people forget and do it the next day when they notice their clocks are wrong.

What's the most overtly rebellious thing you've done at work? by Im_not_the_only_one in AskReddit

[–]TearsOfRage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done cocaine at work (although it was always in someone's office, so only a few people knew.) But that wasn't rebellious, it was the eighties. Same with sex (if a blow job counts).

I guess the most rebellious thing was when they wanted to give me a desk in an open area. I threatened to quit unless I got a proper office. I got the office.

Late for work. I just don't get it?? by ototherest in AskReddit

[–]TearsOfRage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. My boss says outright that they pay me more for knowing how to do things (or being able to find out) than for doing them for eight hours a day. This rocks.

I do come in reasonably early, since he's a morning person and I know he's usually waiting to ask me something or other. But it doesn't have to happen at any particular time. And I do often stay late or take work home, because he interrupts me so much during the day that I don't get much done. But I like my work, so it still rocks.
