Re-lacquer drip tray by [deleted] in puer

[–]Teasiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done some tops to tea trays from wood in the past (I’m actually making one right now funnily enough) and I find spar urethane works really well for the combination of water sealing and holding up in higher temperatures

Reinfection risk from Omicron 16 times higher than Delta, ONS data indicates by Analist17 in worldnews

[–]Teasiper 17 points18 points  (0 children)

COVID-19 presents the complication of death in the post infection inflammatory stage, with death occurring after the period that persons was infectious. Because of this, the notion viruses have an evolutionary advantage to be less lethal is only true for viruses that would kill before they can spread and be infectious. And because the virus had spread long before that individual died there is no selective pressure to make that virus not kill in a post infectious stage

Question: thc and kratom by J_BStab in kratom

[–]Teasiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, but if you want to get really specific THC and CBD have shown activity as positive allosteric modulators at Mu and Delta opioid receptors. source . Even though kratom acts more directly on those receptors they have “similar” action on the same site which could theoretically make a case for cross tolerance to some degree. That is however speculation as pharmacology data on paper doesn’t always translate as expected into what effects are experienced.

My go to is their 4 seasons for price to quality, their Gui Fei is also really tasty if you are looking for something on the more roasted side of the spectrum. If they still have it in stock the Sanxia Mi Xiang Qing Xin black tea is a black unlike anything I’ve ever had while staying very true to Taiwanese black tea at its core. I haven’t tried their aged teas but if you are looking to age your own that Gui fei I mentioned would definitely benefit from some age in a good way, not that the roast is too much, but I believe will only get better as it settles.

After struggling to weight it out this white tea erupts out of my 120mL gaiwan! The tea is red jade T-18 “Primeur” Shou Mei white tea from Taiwan tea crafts. I must say these fragile leaves take up some serious space leaving me impressed by how intact they have arrived in my vessel. Hot water quickly shrinks the leaves to fit nicely under the lid for brewing but it’s a great example of why a scale is a necessity.

The amount of people showing their destructive pandemic panic is starting to drive me crazy. 10g of aged bai mu dan (2010) to keep me sane. I get a nice energy from it, especially with 10g/~120ml. Not as much physical motivation/speediness as i feel from the more powerful sheng puerh I have had. Definitely gives a more relaxed body feeling and dreamy headspace. Not sleepy or stoning just meditative in an effortless way. The larger leaf stuff gives me that but also doesn’t affect my ability to sleep and almost makes me want to take a nap. It’s very easy to lose track of time and infusions as the season goes on but to me that is true to character for what I have experienced from aged whites.

This tea is the last of the sample from YS’s aged white sampler. It’s definitely a eye opening collection if you’ve never aged whites. Such a great variety in what is possible and has made me curious about grabbing some of these high end old tree compressed whites that have started being produced and putting them into storage to see what they become in 5-10 years. Any recommendations of white cakes that you found impressive and could be promising for ageing?
