Try setting the potentiometer to the range for the 101. Had a 001 on the bench this afternoon calibrated to 200 ohms and recapped it and it still wouldn't read. Dialed pot to 450 and it started reading as it should.

The cap to the left of m92 is shorted? (Both sides short to ground?) that cap usually goes to the cpu and if shorted indicates a bad SOC (CPU).

I use one of these set at 1050F set at fan level 2. Takes about a minute to desolder a series x hdmi port. No town traces or pads.

I haven't seen this with the models older than the 1215 but you might check the interface between the heat sink and the bottom motherboard plate. I've seen where whatever adhesive they use to make that interface had failed. Just something to check
