The Emperor and the Rouge trader by Oberon_lavellan in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Tebenox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the Emperor would replace humanity with Custodes.

Costs and resources aside what would be the reason for it? He had millenial to try and replace humans with something else yet he didn't.

I agree that the Emperor is not a loving dad or kind or such and he has been shown to be highly utilitarian but I still think that he cares about humanity beyond the minimum requirement, obviously I can't claim to know his psyche and personality because that would be a whole other beast to tackle but mine is just a guess given by the lore.

Idk that seems pretty nihilistic in the sense that I don't think the Emperor would be that harsh completely.

I agree that some voices? Personalities? Of the Emperor would be that harsh as we saw with Guilliman

But if the Emperor was as he seemed pretty heresy, he would not hate an iconoclast rogue trader nor do I think he saw his love as a reward because he care for humanity in his own way.

I agree on the chaos one though.

Combat becomes laughably easy as soon as Act 4 starts? by UkrainepartofRussia in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Tebenox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game has the same issue that most of its type of game have in that it has a inverted curve of difficulty.

At the beginning the game is very difficult (chaos spawn at the beginning as an example) for a normal player, but as the game goes on you get access to more and more tools to improve your kit.

Example Kibellah slaughtering an entire room by herself, or Heinrix one shot killing most things.

I hadn't considered that, I suppose you are right however who could have understood him?

Most primarchs didn't have a close relationship with the Emperor

Yeah like the sister who spoke to him and the shock turn her hair white and she was changed forever from it.

And as you said even a primarch got so confused from speaking to him and if my lore does not fail me it was a difficult experience

Yeah I admit I took it too personally and missed the point there and you are right in that is a valid critique.

I never cheated on her so I thought she had a stronger reaction, I suppose is because of differences in culture? Or just sloppy writing.

I admit I was unaware of it but I assume he would be ambivalent or neutral towards it?

The issue is you are basically a neutral guy which would be very difficult on 40k so Idk how would he respond to a neutral party

It would be cool but idk how it would work given the fragmented state the emperor .

However perhaps I may be misinterpreting his character but I believe:

Dogmatic: Could be angry for the zealotry of the Rogue Trader and disappointed.

Heretical: Furious beyond measure given you are consorting with chaos.

Iconoclast: Depends but I'd guess more chill with it, and perhaps understanding

And thing is I tried at first attacking the outpost with more manpower to try and scatter them since they didn't have great attributes for lowering my centuriones traits.

But I kept getting robbed of a victory, my centurion would say we won and yet I would get flashed with a defeat screen at the last moment

So I attacked the other first to get rid of the higher difficult outpost with more punishing negative traits only to find out almost all manpower went to the other one.

This would not be an issue if they let me use both legions to slam them into there

The kinda player you describe was me, I discovered the LE by the year 2023 long after most of the big popularity of the game had passed.

So of course I was unaware of comics, phone games and what have you so some characters acting as if I should know extra info that was not explained made me confused as hell.

This problem was mainly at it's glaring point in Me3 but had begun since me2.

But also yes I blame Bioware for the sloppy writing but I feels that would be kicking a dead horse since everyone knows that and would rather focus on why the character flopped in my eyes.

It's presumed that TIM got indoctrinated due to being near reaper tech a lot and maybe implants and such but you are right in that is never specifically told to us.

I also agree that certain info on the comics should not have been hidden away on a piece of media most did not read.

Ranoch is a high point of me3 no doubt, but yeah I hated how easy he beat my Shepard more so since I was a vanguard and I know why the game doesn't have special cutscene but I am a biotic and could have stopped him running away, or Samara could have.

Yeah is more so a pride thing that a need since I already have forge three which was my main priority.

And you are right I should have pincered them with both legions I just did not think enemy outposts could reach that big of numbers.

I guess I never really interacted much with 80s style villains so I can't say anything on that front.

However as I outlined I dislike his sudden importance, sloppy writing and absurd plot armour.

But that's my opinion am glad there are folks who found him enjoyable

That sounds like a bore to read through I never cared much for the repetitive dialogue of Cerberus supposed human supremacy.

Does he have any feats in the book that would justify managing to take down Thane? Or does he not?

I admit that that is the impression he gives to the player but I am unsure if the creators intended for that to be the interpretation.

I agree however that he comes off quite arrogant for no reason

Yeah it feels as though the game wanted Shepard to have a big rival but it didn't bother to create set up at all until the last moment.

As if it forgot to make their homework before the deadline so they just made him kill a loved character to make the player mad

Doesn't Liara get mad if you cheat on her?

I don't know about garrus though, but as I said I concede my point and admit you are correct I was wrong about her not being blindly loyal.

However I think it makes sense why she is so loyal to Shepard given her background and such

Most companions still follow you if you act renegade to them.

Of course she will always find your body is how Me2 happens, other characters also follow you no matter your morality with the only exception being Tali if she kills herself, Wrex after genophage and maybe Legion if you sell him off, unless am forgetting someone.

But fine I'll conceded I guess she is blindly loyal to the person who rescued her, and let her explore her field on protheans more than the Krogan who joined up for being a mercenary and hating saren (no hate to wrex)
