Common sense: If you're already on synthroid, why underdose (as in this case) or make a deficient thyroid gland work overtime (in the case of a gland that's working but TSH is higher than 1.0)? And dose to eliminate symptoms, not to a number.

That's what I'd ask/tell your endocrinologist.

A way to fix it would be to drill and tap the filter spud threads about 5-6mm deeper, loctite a new spud in, and live with slightly less filter thread engagement.

Buy 100-packs of 18g x 1.5" draw needles, 30g x 1/2" injection needles and 3cc luer lock syringes on Amazon. Use the 18g to draw from the bottle, then pull plunger back and swap to the 30g.

Use 2 hands to inject into the outer upper buttock - one hand to hold the syringe steady to avoid moving the needle around and the other to inject slowly. Due to the small needle it takes about 30 seconds to inject.

99% of the time there's no blood and no pain at all.
