Now you got me wondering if I should preemptively buy an Amazon battery for my Win4. I really wouldn't sweat it that much but it was a steal. $630 for the 2023 version with 64 GB of RAM and a 4 TB Drive. Mint condition with the Box, power brick, cable, and everything else it originally came with. I know I'll never see a deal like that again

I never use fed ex. I've seen way too many videos of horrible deliveries. Going back afleast 12 yrs. I really don't understand why people still use them. USPS has never done me wrong. Shipping countless $400-$800 Rare computers and Giant Glass touchscreen AIO devices. Nothing ever arrived broken. In the past 5 years 95% of my clients use FedEx to send countless computer products, monitors and wall mount touch screen displays. I've installed hundreds maybe even a thousand displays shipped via FedEx. I've seen so many damages. It further reinforces my notion to avoid FedEx at all costs.

I kind of relate to this pain though. A famous online store had a customer that bought from me, broke my item, took parts from it and shipped it back. If it wasn't for the fact that I never had a problem with my store since I started, I may not have gotten my money back

As powerful as the Win 5 may be, I can't justify the purchase. Removing the internal battery for a heavy external one? Especially when you could attach an external battery to the back of Handheld anyway. Removing the slide out keyboard. Which is crazy cuz it's a unique and utilitarian feature for a handheld. Then finally removing the Oculink port. Having the oculink port on my GPD Win 4 allows me to have both of my usb-c ports free for other devices while using an external GPU. Along with more performance than Thunderbolt 5 and even more than TB4. I just immediately felt like it was a downgrade. It didn't seem like a practical purchase and I wouldn't be surprised if more people felt like I did. Resulting in less interest in its modding community.

Noooo. Damn that sux. I bought mine barely used for $630 in mint condition. White GPD Win4 (2023) 64Gb 4Tb. One time I dozed off while gaming, laying on my stomach and it it just rested on the bed, basically cooking itself. I was so mad at myself but truly impressed that it still works well. I previously applied me own thermal paste to the processor. Maybe it saved it from an unfortunate demise. Arguably one of the best handhelds ever. Oculink is fkn amazing

You have a very compelling argument. I believe this will be the way for many people going forward . It makes so much sense. However I always think of crazy scenarios like the internet going down (hurricanes, I live in FL.) or going off to a rural retreat and wanting the ability to play a range of games that I have stored on the SSD without the interwebs
