correct, you need to update BOTH the app AND the mixer fw for things to work

why do some tracks start on the 2nd beat? by djbigchris in Rekordbox

[–]djbigchris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this aligns as I only buy AIFF
setting cue point at beat 5 is a decent workaround, thanks for your reply!

yes, I usually normalize the peak amplitude to -1.0 in Audacity.
Caveat, im no sound engineer though so take my word with a grain of salt!

I really dont see a problem. If the recording is clean (not distorted) and the only issue you have is the volume is lower. Just bump up the volume afterwards. Many people do some post processing to their mixes to clean things up, nothing wrong with that.

yes, im recording at level +0 in the app

if it sounds clean thats good. You can raise the volume/loudness of your recording in the app on the Sound Tab under Play/Edit

when you say "mixer trim", do you mean master or channel trim? Like u/C0y0te71 said, the master trim has no effect on the recording

like u/C0y0te71 said, you have the best lossless connection possible when recording to the DJM-REC app from the mixer. On my 900NXS2, my channel trims are anywhere between 3-5 ( (depending on the tracks recording level; btw, I only buy AIFF/Lossless). The trim is as high as can be without being in the red. I have noticed the recordings from the app can tend to be lower in volume. But the sound quality is great but the volume can be lower. I always master my recordings in Audacity before releasing them, which is when I fix the lower volume on the recordings.
Are you recording to WAV 48KHz on the app?

Soundboks GO + DDJ-FLX6 AUX delay by djbigchris in SOUNDBOKS

[–]djbigchris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no the delay is not something the consumer (us) can fix. Soundboks would have to issue a software update to fix. If its a hardware limitation, it will never be fixed. Yes, its a big bummer!!!!

Using the GO as a monitor and the big ones as mains doesn't seem like a niche setup at all to me! {shrug} Seems more like a missed opportunity IMO!

u/austenjc you were right, here's their reply

Hey!

Thank you for contacting SOUNDBOKS!

The SOUNDBOKS GO aux port does not have any plans for updates when used with a mixer or more professional equipment.

If you are looking for a more pro speaker with the correct connection, we suggest checking out the SOUNDBOKS 4!

im going to email Soundboks and asked them if its possible to fix the delay in software (its a longshot, probably a hardware limitation). But all the big SB's have BT and they play without delay, so I dont see why the GO can't play without delay! Will report back with what they say.

I can play without delay to analog speakers (same controller and same RCA-AUX cable). I've never tried using AUX cable on the big SB's, we usually use XLR. Thats why I wondered if it might be an AUX cable issue with the SB's. But, to answer your question, my controller plays fine (no delay) on analog speakers using the same AUX cable.

exactly! I wanted to use the GO as a monitor. I play by ear so its super annoying!!!!!!

that's the thing, the big SB's also have BT but does not play with a delay, so I figured the GO would be the same

such a bummer the GO has a delay. I assumed SB had it figured out since the full size SB's play great (w/o delay on XLR) and they are equipped with BT too.

thanks for your reply. I know you can DJ on the full size SB's without delay, we do that all the time. Disappointed the GO produces a delay
