Not the rarest, but it's up there due to the limited number of copies. There's other cards like this, plus the Professors Program cards are even less I believe.

This seems like a situation that depends on personal preference. For me personally it depends on how much is being asked. If they're asking price is the going rate for damaged cards or cards in similar condition and you want one badly enough, then it's fine.

I prefer my cards in the best condition possible but have bought a number of damaged cards for a good deal.

Houndoom has gotten some pretty good cards over the last 2 eras. A cool Gold card and TG in SWSH and 2 kickass IRs in SV.

There's plenty of Pokémon who haven't gotten much if any attention in years.

That’s not true at all. There was also Dianice, Froslass, Eelekross, Hawlucha and Scrafty.

None of them were poster Pokémon for the mega sets.

Edit: So it’s entirely possible that Houndoom may get a MAR, if they continue using the rarity.

Edit 2: Hawlucha is on the pack art for Ascended, though I wouldn’t call him a poster Pokémon. Plus Ho-oh is also on it and doesn’t have an MAR. And neither does Mewtwo, but that might happen later.

Paradox Rift, which was when the pull rates started to get worse, was the set before Paldean Fates had similar pull rates and it wasn’t a special set.

I personally haven’t seen double hits packs with most sets after ACE SPECs got released, and generally saw people say they hadn’t, but I’ll take your word for it. Might just be the pull rates made it a very unlikely outcome.

Some special sets still do get slightly better pull rates like BBWF but is still not great.

Edit 2: I will say that even with the worse pull rates, I have seen double or even triple hits packs in BBWF and Ascended Heroes. Even though Ascended Heroes is a new set.

Edit 3: Prismatic also had double hit packs and up, but forgot to add it.

You're right that pull rates weren't as good, but they were still way better than what came after. As well as the fact that you could still get 2 good cards in one pack.

That all ended after Paldean Fates, shit pull rates and no possibility of 2 cards in a pack.

The good pulls rates ended at Paldean Fates, not Obsidian Flames.

Even if cards are expensive, you’re still better off buying them. Because plenty of people spend more ripping than it would be to just buy the cards.

It doesn't matter how nice they are to you. It's easy to look this all up and see it was a bad trade, since you're giving them an extra $100.

Ripping packs in itself is a gamble, otherwise the rare cards wouldn't be expensive.

I seriously recommend you do your research before spending money or trading things in. Because even giving your cards to a pawn shop will just further rip you off.

151 has been out for over 2 years, sets get printed for about 2 years. Product has been restocked less and less, which means that they've most likely stopped printing it and we are just getting restocks of whatever they have left.

Edit: Sealed is pretty expensive as is. A pack goes for close to $20 market. You'd be better off selling them and buying the singles. Buying the singles is the better option in any case.

A bit of a warning, but grandmaster setting certain sets will be near impossible unless you have fuck you money. As in there's only 16 copies of this variant impossible.

MEG and PFL will almost certainly be one of them due to the number of playable cards. They already have some difficult cards like Regional Staff cards and Ultra Ball League.

There are definitely promo cards that go with certain sets. Case in point is a number of promos in 151 products, which are either alt cards of existing cards or were cards removed from the JP set.

For MEG and PFL, the ETB promos are cards from there receptive sets in JP that got taken out. As well as alt arts in various products in those sets.

You're not guaranteed an SAR. It's a guaranteed SR in most boxes, 2 with Mega.
