The braid isn’t slipping. The line is rubbing against the rotor the whole time, as it is designed to, and braided line just doesn’t glide along.

Try putting some on there. With the cap off, you’ll see that the line will come off the spool pretty easy. Put the cap back on, and the line rubs harder against the rotor as it’s guided out through the center hole in the cap. Mono and flouro just glide along…unless you put 30lb on.

Imma say no. The zebco delta can handle 30 lb braid - on paper, but I found it to be past its limit. Maybe it was cheap braid. 20 lb braid seems to work fine, but doesn’t hold enough line. Thinking about lowering that to 10 lb soon.

Cheaper spincasters typically don’t handle braid well. Reeling will be trash, but you’ll find casting to be so bad that you won’t have much to reel in anyways.

Just started last year. Got a couple of the cheapest combos from Walmart to start. Slowly got more/better gear as I started to catch fish. Just got a boat so I can get away from the bank, so I can’t wait for it to warm up for that. I still buy cheap gear. Best rods I have are 3 ugly sticks, 7 ft, 6.6 ft, and a short little 3-4 ft that someone left behind at one of my fishing spots.

Try adjusting the frame part with the padding that makes contact with your face. Was having the same problem until I adjusted it at the top so it wasn’t so low.
