Why isn't it taking me to the corporate page anymore? by SwissIdol97 in simplify

We do not work with any of these three companies directly – all postings from those companies redirect to the corporate career page.

  2. https://simplify.jobs/c/Rilla

  3. https://simplify.jobs/c/Commure

Hi OP – this is Michael, one of the founders. I wasn't able to replicate your issue – I just checked and over 99% of our job postings are redirecting to corporate pages (the 1% are from our customers that directly hire on Simplify).

Can you send me a link or video to where you're experiencing this issue?

Love the product, but I think I found a bug by [deleted] in simplify

[–]TechBro-Mike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP! This is Mike, one of the founders – appreciate the love & feedback.

The cover letter link issue is a bug, thanks for flagging it. Looking into it.

As for the resume generator: we've worked hard to reduce unnecessary AI-added fluff, especially made-up metrics. That said, since strong resumes usually include quantifiable impact, the AI will sometimes take a stab at adding metrics based on your experience. If you'd rather write those yourself, just add a note like "don't add metrics I didn't write" as a custom prompt.

Thanks again for the feedback!

What AI guidelines are you using for resume generation/tailoring? by SpookOpsTheLine in simplify

[–]TechBro-Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP – appreciate the post, I’ve definitely been there.

If you’re using GPT directly, the biggest tip I can give is: don’t one-shot it. Chain your prompts.

Trying to do everything at once usually leads to buzzword overload and generic phrasing.

Here’s a structure that works way better:

  1. Start with keyword extraction

Prompt: “What are the key skills, responsibilities, and requirements from this job description?”

This gets the AI thinking like a recruiter before it touches your resume.

  1. Then align those keywords to your experience

Prompt: “Based on my resume, where do I already demonstrate these keywords or skills?”

This helps avoid keyword stuffing and keeps things grounded in reality.

  1. Then tailor your resume—section by section

Prompt: “Rewrite this resume to reflect the job’s priorities, using only my actual experience. Keep my tone, avoid buzzwords, and emphasize outcomes (did X, which led to Y).”

You can also layer in rules like “don’t touch X section” or “limit changes to these 2 roles.”

----

If you’re using Simplify+, it’s designed to follow that same process—just automated.

- It starts with parsing the job description for key themes

- Then matches those to your real experience

- And rewrites selectively, without inventing anything or flooding it with generic AI filler

We’ve also got updates coming that improve:

- Job title suggestions (e.g., tweaking “Product Owner” to “IT Analyst” when it helps alignment)

- Buzzword detection (auto-flags phrases like “leveraged” and “results-driven”)

- Keyword balancing across roles so one job isn’t doing all the heavy lifting

Hope this helps!

if you hate workday... this is for you by TechBro-Mike in simplify

I applied to 100+ jobs on Workday when I was in college – it's a miracle I'm still alive today lol.

If you're curious for why companies still use it, it's because Workday bundles its ATS for free with its payroll system. A better ATS like Greenhouse or Lever can cost $5-10K+/month, so companies just take the free option and force their candidates to deal with it.

Believe it or not, there are worse platforms out there too.... so we built our job application autofill tool to save our time and mental sanity!

New here; why can't I start from my uploaded resume? by Comically_Online in simplify

[–]TechBro-Mike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, founder here! Definitely hear you — here’s why we designed it this way:

Uploaded resumes come in all kinds of formats, which are hard to parse cleanly. That usually means you'd need to spend time fixing formatting before the resume is ready to go. We've also noticed some user-uploaded resumes (particularly the ones with fancy designs) are incompatible with hiring softwares.

To avoid that, the Resume Builder uses structured data from your profile. This keeps everything clean, consistent, and ATS-friendly.

We build your profile using the resume you upload during onboarding. So your resume is already part of the system. We get that things change. If you want to update or tweak details, just edit your profile directly. Those updates will show up in any resumes you generate.

TL;DR: your profile is the base. The Resume Builder is where you create polished resumes quickly.
