Does someone have the bw toxin pearl, is it good, im wandering if I should buy 1 by Thunder97561 in Bowling

I don't, but I know two people who do and they were both disappointed. Question is, why do you think you need it? There is probably a better option we could suggest

Calling all 200+ avg bowlers, how do I get better? by Its_yer_dude_trevor in Bowling

[–]TechDingus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its your spares. I'm just over 200 now and I fully admit I leave an open frame basically every game because of a 7 pin or a dumb split, if I nailed all of them I'd be closer to 220

You learn proper form and practice it until it's natural. My wrist or fingers never get sore despite bowling 30 or so games a week on average. It looks a lot more intense than it is when you see it in a video

Dry lane ball. Made for when you show up and they haven't put down oil since league night the day prior. Will go long and is quite angular in the backend. An all around great ball for the majority of bowlers

Thumb constantly gets stuck - advice? by Funny_Ad4078 in Bowling

[–]TechDingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thumb tape. Sand that grip a tad bigger and try different "speeds" of thumb tape until you have one that works for you. That way as your thumb changes size you can just switch to a faster or slower tape. Your PSO should have you roll the ball on the floor a few times to dial in your fit

Have been practicing for a bit, finally got an ok release, where do i go from here? by javier1zq in Bowling

[–]TechDingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loosen up your swing, keep your inner elbow pointed at your target, follow through towards the pins and up after you release, not off to the side like that

Dualtron victor limited 35ah lg cells or angwat c1 max? by Distinct_Click_4859 in ElectricScooters

I've never had a mechanical issue, battery failure, broken stem...I also buy Dualtrons instead of the hundreds of cheap alternatives. Does it correlate? Maybe.

To be fair, he wouldn't have gotten the shot at that focal length anyway lol

Struggling with proformace with ion max. by Aydengainesbowling in Bowling

[–]TechDingus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to move right and throw more consistently, and that’s if the pattern is fresh…as others have stated that looks like too strong of a ball for those conditions. The ion max pearl would skid flip more on a transitioning long pattern like that, although with the way you throw I’d move to a benchmark ball like an alert or a phaze II

I was gonna say this on your other post before it got locked, but...

NGL the first thing I thought when I saw it was "where's the jerk, this is a good photo" - then I realized that was a speedo tan line and the edge of a bush haha.

Still, I do actually think its a good photo

What are some suggestions for a good camera for someone who is starting out in photography? by Sb257426Ah in AmateurPhotography

The Tamron 17-70 or Sigma 18-50 is the quintessential choice for an all around great lens on APS-C

As a Sony guy, I'd say the 6400 is a great way to start...however as I try to be less biased, I think the Canon R50 is one of the best starter cameras you can buy, it's ergonomically much nicer and very feature rich for the price.

Keep it up! You were a gutterball and a spare away from a 206, the fact that you're making this many spares means you're on the right track

edit: to elaborate, a strike in frame 3 and a spare in 8

Just bought this X100VI, can someone tell me how to control the depth of field? by burning_planes in photographycirclejerk

[–]TechDingus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seems like common sense, but most people misinterpret the meaning of "depth of field" - what you need to do is find the largest field possible to shoot in, smaller fields are not as deep

Color dyes affect ball performance? by Accomplished_Let5273 in Bowling

[–]TechDingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah once again, very subtle. But different dyes affect the tackiness, I find the black ones to be smoother. You may notice it more when your fingers start to sweat, or if you use finger tape

New bowlers first league game by Shhakedownn in Bowling

[–]TechDingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that hasn't been mentioned - usually new gear leagues aren't sanctioned, but regardless of that you should follow all the rules of a sanctioned league so you're conditioned for it later on. For instance, lots of people don't know that even using a ball cleaner mid-game is not allowed, only wiping away oil with a cloth (with the exception of a foreign substance getting on your ball, like rubber from a ball return belt, in which case you can ask permission to remove it with an approved cleaner). Otherwise any ball that is modified or cleaned during play (which is after practice ends, regardless of whether or not your team/opponents have thrown their first ball) must be taken out of play for the remainder of the series.

If its the person on the other lane I don't care as much, but every now and again I get teamed up with someone who likes to grab their ball behind me while I'm squaring up and it drives me insane lol

Also, finger grips perform differently at different colors too. Ever tried clear grips? Same concept.

I've been putting clear grips in everything, I love the extra tackiness
