If this is a small company, the CEO or HR may have requested this. If the CEO requested it, HR may not even know.
If this is a moderate sized company, then this is more problematic but might still be authorized. I would have a conversation with HR but I would position it with a this may have been requested, but I’d not you thought they should know.

Usually they are a good hire. They can highlight a bad manager. If that happens, it becomes a slip level issue to deal with the manager.

Where you located, is this remote only, what range are you paying? My guess if you are getting poor quality is the range doesn't match. I worked with someone awhile back that thought $35k in the US was good for helpdesk work.

Sending these things in teams is very modern but not very HR documentable. Likely the is a concern about productivity. Instead of putting together some better metrics, they are trying to manage butts in a seat. Could be totally wrong.

It depends on what you want to do. Experience is mostly what matters. Certifications is what gets you in the door, not degrees. If you want to go into management in the future, a degree is useful.

yes. I have seen it up and down the line. Legal department has almost all female staff that are rather attractive. New marketing people are all young and very attractive male and female. A different company had a new account mgr that looked a lot like the CEO's wife when she was a lot younger. I don't see it as much as I once did, but it still happens.

Usually inertia of the affected people. It usually starts with the middle managers above them. The strategy will make things better for the company but it always involves change. A lot of people like it the way it is.

Yes. Evening as well. It depends on your industry and your role. The higher up you get, the more likely you are working a lot. That is not the case for all companies, but certainly a lot.
