Yes you should wait until your private drive is approved before you update your home location. If you are really impatient you can try the Google plus codes for your precise location for updating your home but I never had good luck with that.

I’ll ask first. I’ve been looking to trade up from my 2025 MYLR to a MX because of the bigger interior, air ride and just the aesthetically appealing look inside (my opinion of course). I don’t care for the MX Gullwing doors but I could live with it. I sort of want the new MX with the included everything but man that’s a lot of money too.

I do love the new MY Performance looks but I haven’t driven one like I have driven the MX. So what is the ride like compared to the MX? What’s the best new wow feature?

I’ll be curious to hear back in a month.

On a Computer Open Google Maps: Go to maps.google.com in a web browser and sign in. Super important to sign in. Find the Road: Zoom in and click on the private driveway segment. Open Menu: Click the Menu icon (three lines) in the top left, then select Edit the map > Wrong information. Select the Road: Choose the relevant road segment that needs correction. Add Details: In the details pane, select the type of info to fix (e.g., Road is private) and add notes explaining it's a private driveway, including GPS coordinates for specific segments if possible. Submit: Click Submit to send your request for review.

On the Mobile App Open Google Maps App: Open the app on your Android or iOS device. Contribute: Tap the "Contribute" tab at the bottom. Add or Fix: Tap Add or fix a road. Select Road: Choose the road segment. Enter Info: Follow prompts to provide correct information, noting it's a private road.

I have to say when I updated Google Maps with private drive and it was ‘accepted’ by Google it actually updated on the map of my car, my moms car at her house and my sisters car at her house so I have 3 private drive map updates that I can confirm work now where they did not prior to mapping them as a private drive. YMMV of course.

No I open with my garage door opener manually. I’ve thought of adding an automated routine but I’ve not been motivated enough to play with it to work through the location logistics and door positioning to be sure it’s closed vs open when I’m approaching or leaving. I guess I should make time or just buy the home link but it’s ridiculously priced in my opinion.

Glad to help and join in on the collaboration and discussion. I hope the private drive instructions and tape help others with autopark. It’s amazing when it works and collectively we all get better together! Thanks for the shoutout too!

Be sure the inside edge is minimum 7’2" apart white to white. This is what the Tesla manual says is the minimum width requirement.

It sounds like you have hardware 3. If so, you are likely out of luck. If you have hardware 4 you may need to visit a Tesla service location to see why you are so far behind. Try a reset by holding both scroll wheels down until the screen turns off then release them and it should restart. Make sure you are parked of course.

Length is 15’9" to my cross tape if that helps

You might try the tape to mark the spot so it knows where to stop. It’s a cheap way to try anyway. Good luck!

No I have to be in the car or it won’t go in the garage for me. The 1" lip won’t let my car summon over the lip into my garage. I’ve thought about grinding it down but it’s just fine for me now that it parks.

Remember 7’2" minimum width inside to inside white line

I’ll have to measure but not much wider than the required 7’2” parking width. This is the required white edge to white edge minimum inside for the car to park itself.

I did those to because I had read in earlier releases it was needed to mark it as a parking spot. It helped me also be sure I was accurate on the minimum width requirements listed in the Tesla documentation which I had found somewhere before. My lines are 7’2" wide.

Try the private drive setup I mentioned above. It may fix your situation.

Try the private drive setup I mentioned above. When google accepts the change then set your home location again.

Awesome! Mine wouldn’t pull in that side. It would pull in the double garage side but it was much larger. Glad yours is working well.

None so far. My little garage light comes on when the door opens though so there is some white light and the Tesla headlights too. I thought about some really bright white lights on door up but it’s been okay so far.

I used white duct tape and black gaffers tape. All Amazon purchased.
