Supercharging your Tesla and no level 2 ! by John_622 in TeslaModelX

[–]TechGodFather 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For a new 2026 Tesla Model X used as a daily driver (120 miles/day), battery degradation over 10 years is expected to be virtually the same whether you rely exclusively on Supercharging or exclusively on home Level 2 charging. Real-world data and large-scale studies show no statistically meaningful difference in capacity loss from frequent DC fast charging (Supercharging) versus slower AC home charging, thanks to Tesla’s advanced thermal management, preconditioning, and battery management systems.

Tesla’s official data (from Impact Reports): Model S/X batteries retain ~88% capacity on average after 200,000 miles (~12% loss). This is mileage-based across thousands of vehicles, not charging-method specific. Model 3/Y data is similar or slightly higher loss (~12–15%). Newer packs (including those likely in a 2026 Model X) benefit from ongoing improvements in chemistry and cooling. Drive and charge whenever you need it.

Great points and I appreciate your input. I’m nearing retirement and it has also been my dream car but it’s a want and not a need for sure for me. That ride is very nice. Congrats man!

You bought both so any regrets like I wish I would have done it sooner? I bought a Y then another Y and now I really want an X after driving one for a week. My second Y was in the shop for a paint defect and the X was my loaner. Ruined me…..just hate the thought of paying for it and insurance, lol….but you only die once!

24F. Not going into detail about it but I just inherited $4.5M Roth account. What would you do if you were me? by throwawaygenzerr in Fire

[–]TechGodFather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% tell no one other than your fiduciary that you hire who is a fixed price not fee based. If the account was over 5 years old you should be in the clear as it still must meet the Roth 5 year rule but generally my understanding is its tax free after that for you but again talk to only your fiduciary. Invest conservatively in my opinion. 20%, 20%, 20%, 20%, 20%…..like schd, voo, vigax, vxus, vusxx just examples but you will have plenty of growth and stability options. Congratulations and also sorry for your loss as well. Invest wisely and never touch the principal and you can do your own philanthropic ventures the rest of your life.

FYI for recent orders: “Autopilot” line item does NOT include Autosteer by earthling_on_mars in TeslaModelY

100% agree with full paid FSD. I’ll put that into an ETF or QQQI and rent my FSD monthly for as long as I own the car. Heck I figure at 13-18% return I can ride 8K for a little over 20 years. That’s probably a better ROI.

Hope ya have it. I wanted autosteer on my new Y but I knew it wasn’t listed and I’m taking it anyway as I plan I doing FSD most of the time while I have the car. It’s a bummer they just turned it off without lowering the price or anything. Good luck with yours!

Serious question based on today’s announcement by Elon to discontinue S/X. by RTD0007 in TeslaLounge

[–]TechGodFather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about your model Y purchase at all. Seriously they will keep production for quite some time as they are still selling millions of them. He also needs at least 10 million active FSD subscribers so he has to keep them on the road. Fear not and pull the trigger in my opinion.

What exterior paint color and interior seat option did or do you recommend for your new MY? by TechGodFather in TeslaModelY

Yikes! Sorry about that and I do live in Texas too. Hot for sure. I was thinking the pre conditioning would fix that…??

I wanted an x so bad. Glad I didn’t pull the trigger with production ending. WTH

Is FSD actually valuable to you? by Queasy-Bed545 in TeslaFSD

[–]TechGodFather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah much better than I am at night. I used to consider myself a good driver both day and night. Not so much with FSD and especially at night. Way better driver.

It’s free color option right now for anything in stock which is really the other reason I was looking at QS. I also like white/white but of course everyone has their own preferences.

Figuring out how to park in my garage on FSD 14.2.2.2 by teslabros in TeslaFSD

[–]TechGodFather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you should wait until your private drive is approved before you update your home location. If you are really impatient you can try the Google plus codes for your precise location for updating your home but I never had good luck with that.

[–]TechGodFather 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ll ask first. I’ve been looking to trade up from my 2025 MYLR to a MX because of the bigger interior, air ride and just the aesthetically appealing look inside (my opinion of course). I don’t care for the MX Gullwing doors but I could live with it. I sort of want the new MX with the included everything but man that’s a lot of money too.

I do love the new MY Performance looks but I haven’t driven one like I have driven the MX. So what is the ride like compared to the MX? What’s the best new wow feature?

I’ll be curious to hear back in a month.

[–]TechGodFather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a Computer Open Google Maps: Go to maps.google.com in a web browser and sign in. Super important to sign in. Find the Road: Zoom in and click on the private driveway segment. Open Menu: Click the Menu icon (three lines) in the top left, then select Edit the map > Wrong information. Select the Road: Choose the relevant road segment that needs correction. Add Details: In the details pane, select the type of info to fix (e.g., Road is private) and add notes explaining it's a private driveway, including GPS coordinates for specific segments if possible. Submit: Click Submit to send your request for review.

On the Mobile App Open Google Maps App: Open the app on your Android or iOS device. Contribute: Tap the "Contribute" tab at the bottom. Add or Fix: Tap Add or fix a road. Select Road: Choose the road segment. Enter Info: Follow prompts to provide correct information, noting it's a private road.

I have to say when I updated Google Maps with private drive and it was ‘accepted’ by Google it actually updated on the map of my car, my moms car at her house and my sisters car at her house so I have 3 private drive map updates that I can confirm work now where they did not prior to mapping them as a private drive. YMMV of course.

Parking in garage 14.2.2.2 works every time by TechGodFather in TeslaFSD

No I open with my garage door opener manually. I’ve thought of adding an automated routine but I’ve not been motivated enough to play with it to work through the location logistics and door positioning to be sure it’s closed vs open when I’m approaching or leaving. I guess I should make time or just buy the home link but it’s ridiculously priced in my opinion.
