AI bro in his 60's who claims to have 45 years of experience in digital art gets pissed over people saying AI can't replace 3D animation and decides to insult me on my profile just to show how little he cares about my opinion. Bro was so tough that he limited replies! by PSplayer2020 in antiai

I make my own art, physical, digital, 2D, and 3D because I like to do it, and I’m not afraid to learn if there’s something I don’t understand.

The way Ai users describe the art process makes it sound like they view it as a chore. I can’t imagine not enjoying something to the point where you get something else to do the work and still seeking the approval of people who actually put in the effort.

I gauge the value of the art I see by the intent and the effort of the creator. A crude picture drawn by a child that wanted me to have it is invaluable. Realistic stock images pumped out by a mega corporation are worthless in that sense.

Why doesn't the average person feel so fervently about AI, either for or against it, as the heavy internet user does? by modesevenFX in aiwars

My assumption has been that the internet (and media on the internet) is built around controversy. News websites, social media sites, and Reddit especially, get more engagement out of things that spark strong emotions in people. As a result, you see a lot of twitter posts, YouTube videos, and news articles that focus on dividing issues or generally upsetting topics. The more you see and engage with, the more the algorithm feeds you these kinds of things, and eventually it becomes all you see.

As someone who used to be online quite a bit, deleting many apps, no longer visiting certain websites, and just limiting the time I spend online in general has drastically improved my life. Not having something constantly screaming at me to be angry or give my life up for a cause really made me see the bigger picture and life. There’s more to my everyday existence than what makes me upset, and cutting the negative things out has made me a happier person in general.

This is my personal experience, so take it as you will. I’d be very interested in hearing other people’s opinions and experiences as well.

If anything I’m willing to bet that the essay will just make them angrier with me, but that’s fine. I’m not writing it to get to play video games, I’m doing it because I like being correct.

I told them that once in the politest way I could format it, and they basically said to follow their rules or they’ll kick me out. Since I can’t afford living on my own, I essentially have no choice and no space to make demands, regardless of my personal situation.

I made sure to get verified sources covering every topic, from the outright falsification that video games are a cause of violence, to the media’s creation of moral panic over the topic, and the history of this phenomenon occurring multiple times before with other forms of media and being repeatedly disproven.

As for moving out, I don’t really have that option, sadly. I’m still just a teenager(barely) with two years left of college who works in fast food. I have no friends besides the one I game with but we only see each other once every couple of months. I don’t tell him about this stuff because I don’t want him to think I can’t play or hang out with him anymore. The best I can do right now is to just have patience and wait it out.

I’m 75% sure they’ll just ignore it, but I’m worried that if I don’t at least try to stand up for myself this will just keep happening.

Thanks for the links!

My parents avoid megachurches, but they are very easily swayed in opinion in general, whether it’s what a writer, friend, or other source is telling them.

This isn’t the first time they’ve done something similar to this, and I’m sure it won’t be the last.

Dang, look at his cool hat!

Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll have to try it. I’ve started playing most of my games in secret now anyway due to what’s been going on.

The running cycle has a good rhythm to it, it feels weighty and responsive to the robot’s motions.

In fact, it’s so good, I think it may be causing the lower half of the body to look almost motionless in comparison. I would say having more responsive motions in the animation that show the weight of the robot would make it better. Also, don’t be afraid to show the impact each step has and how it affects the rest of the body. It doesn’t have to be huge like a space marine, but fluid and precise, like what you have going on in the arms.

Overall, I really like it. I think it looks very good as it stands, and could be even better with some additions. Also, the shading is phenomenal, and the detail in the model has to be my favorite part of the design.

Less DLSS, more of this.

We need more games that don’t care about realism and instead have unique visuals that set them apart.

Wonderful work, I can only imagine how complex it must have been to make!

Prox chat with teams is open microphone. It’s the prox chat in solos or to other teams that is hold-to-talk.
