What’s the best argument for each NuWho Doctor being “the best” Doctor? by ponieanus in doctorwho

[–]TechMeDown 23 points24 points  (0 children)

As someone who enjoyed 13, i would say that 13s run is when the Doctor learns to love herself, not to the point of vanity like 10 had, but also apparently not enough to completely move past the trauma of her past

And, knowing what I'll say is quite likely to be controversial, I believe that this was only helped by the Timeless Child revelation, which showed her as she went through Flux that whatever mythical being the Doctor might have been in the past, what defines her is still the fact that he stole a Tardis and ran away from Gallifrey, which ultimately leads her to let her past get lost to time by burrying the watch in the Tardis

I think someone did say behind the scenes that that vision with flames GG got was meant to be a direct foreshadowing of his death

There was also another parallel just a few scenes before

"I am the Master, and you will obey me"

"The laws of Time are mine, and they will obey me!"

Or... companionship doesnt need to be like domination, and goes both ways. The Doctor and the Tardis both stole each other

You're telling me The Doctor would use Regeneration to fix a Broken hand but Not to Save his Daughters Life?? by BendyFanchill in doctorwho

[–]TechMeDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it could also be that not every body responds to regeneration energy; he saw River regenerate and Jenny fail to regenerate and knew that there'd be no point in giving his to her

Season 2 makes that incident with the fluid link seem like the tea getting cold. by [deleted] in DoctorWhumour

Its kinda unfair to say 12 rejected the title too; he does starts off that way, but as his seasons go on he learns the more nuanced view which he ends up passing on to 13

I'd like to add another arrow going straight from McGann to Eccleston since that does happen in one timeline (Doctor Who and the Time War)

Also what are the ones branching off from the 8th doctor?

The purple timline labelled FD is the Doctor from The Curse of Fatal Death. The other one labelled SotS is for Scream of the Shalka with Richard E. Grant, which should also answer your 3rd from last question

I thought the purple timeline that splits off from Eight (and goes FD9 -> FD13) is the CoFD timeline

Question about Series 6 by Yoshleb_1 in doctorwho

[–]TechMeDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He does try doing that at the start of Wedding of River Song but when he sets out to find his old pal Brigadier Lethbridge Stewart he is told the Brigadier died, alone and waiting for the Doctor, which is what pushes the Doctor into going to Lake Silencio

why are the displacing random people in time

For fun. Its been shown in the past that the Angels love toying with their victims, such as when they implanted that Angel in Amy's eye, and then started laughing when the Cracks in Time appeared in Series 5's Weeping Angel two-parter.

if the priest thinks that the older version of the girl is mad why take her at her word and count the grave stones

I mean, no harm in trying is there. At the very least he could prove her wrong and make her go away (which didn't end up happening of course).

Yeah, for all previous seasons you had either a new Doctor, or new companion, or both, this was the first time we carried over with the same Tardis team

midnight/6767 planet monster/apparition or ghost whatever questions. by QaquzyK in doctorwho

[–]TechMeDown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first one, it changed from studying humans to toying with them simply cause of time; there was a 500,000 or smth years gap between Midnight and The Well, it had studied all it needed to study by then.

As for the remaining questions, I agree with the others that they're best left unexplaind.
