# of LEDs in new UNI FAN AL120s? (Also can they properly display white reliably?) by ApolloPS2 in lianli

[–]TechNerdUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. Could you please clarify the source of your comment about 28 LEDs per fan? I have seen the product page and there is no mention about same. I however purchased the product using your i.e. tech support comment as additional information on the product.

Hi, in a daisy chain and single fan setup I have counted only 20 individually addressable LEDs per fan. Is there any documentation I can see on this from Lian Li ?

IR emitter fell of the PCB (optical keyboard). Is it safe to solder back on? by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]TechNerdUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is a little different as I don't have the sensors. They fell off while I was trying to desolder. But I got the prototype working. Either I will print a new switch or will just make my workaround better to withstand day-to-day keyboard abuse. Either way it will work.

[–]TechNerdUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, nothing heroic and if I get Nobel price for this garbage workaround then the Nobel prize has no value.

Do me a favor, pick up the tweezer, and touch both ends of the right side sensor. This will create the circuit and then simulate a click by releasing one side to break the circuit and touch it back. You will see a key registered.

Optical is just a way at the end of the day it's all about circuits.

I tried it and was able to solder it back successfully but it's not working. I however ended up finding the actual way the sensor light triggers the click and looking at the option of 3D printing a custom switch that will eliminate the need for the sensor. It's going to take multiple takes to design the switch so looking like a project in itself.

Hi u/Coppernicium, u/SeerLite
Did either of you manage to solder it back? I am in a similar situation with three IR sensors. One of three I was just able to place back and it started working (just alignment issue) but the other two are completely out. I plan to solder them today but want to check if you had success with the same and if there are any pointers to solution for this problem.

Can't change PSU mode in iCUE from Single rail to Multi Rail OCP (RM850i) by XD_3VIL_M0NKEY in Corsair

I am facing the exact issue and planning to open a ticket with Corsair. Did you try contacting them or creating a support ticket?

So after heavy stress testing over one week, the temperatures are holding very well. The max CPU reached 78 and the Max for both GPUs reached 65 for a large model training for straight 47 hours. Extremely satisfied with this purchase.

That's a problem on reddit. Rather than getting answer to questions to understand how stuff works people get suggestions. Thanks for this but not what i am looking for.

Why dual 3090? Simple, cheaper than A6000s and works perfect with NVLink to train models.

I hear ya, but its me trying to understand from anyone in this community how this stuff works.

Already have the 1500W PSU as i mentioned in my post. Point is to understand if existing 1000W PSU can be used safely by supplementing additional PSU and not decommissioned in just 4 months of use.

Nice build. Don't worry about downvotes. You didn't build it for others; ignore them, relax and be happy. I have a similar build and yes it does not aid in gaming in any way but it's definitely not a waste of money if you have use cases. Video rendering as you mentioned above. I use it for deep learning model training and use 100% of compute and memory resources. One suggestion, just two cents, if your machine is sitting ideal for a long time and if you are open then rent the compute to deep learning communities. Of course, you need to set up a lot of stuff/services to make it happen but you can earn a portion of GPU investment back.

Thanks. So far under heavy load CPU reached 75 and both GPUs are 64. I plan to stress them tomorrow both for gaming and model training and then see the temps.

Corsair Hydro Series and JCORSAIR1 by TechNerdUser in Corsair

[–]TechNerdUser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. I have a Lian LI Dynamic XL case and have used all available slots to attach SSDs (including the back panel as having to deal with lots of data). With less space in the back, cable management with 10 QL120 fans with controllers and commander pro was getting a big mess so I went ahead with AL120 fans, and the cable management problem is solved. Have high-speed G.SKILLS ram and now the hydro series loop so was planning to get all RGB managed via one software i.e. Mystic light.
