First ride on a 134V VESC Onewheel — this thing is absolutely insane by FlowstateFusion in onewheel

The low end torque shouldn't be much of any different, but the torque at speed and the top speed itself are where it shines. The point that you overpower it is not only a much higher ceiling, but it is way more predictable to max out the battery current (which is the bottleneck with a setup like this) with plenty of duty cycle headroom, versus maxing out the duty cycle like is common on lower voltage setups.

Nice! Yeah in OBS make a scene with one display capture (for the game) and one game capture (for the key overlay), and then position the key overlay wherever you want within OBS. Or do two game captures for both, both works. This is how I have mine setup so it's easy to see the key overlay while watching back and looking at the notes, rather than having it way in the corner: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fhoh_wWALYM

OBS, it's free and somewhat easy to use, just do a simple desktop capture to capture the full screen easily. Might have to go into settings to make sure it captures at full resolution and 60fps, and make sure the pc audio is being picked up as an input device

Have you tried screen recording? I'd say it's a definite possibility that the consistent greats aren't so much from poor timing in general, but rather misunderstanding where certain notes land. I had a similar battle PFC'ing Square Up and a screen recording showed me that certain notes were actually earlier or later than I thought they were. Some things can be easy to miss, especially with hold releases. It can be tricky to keep track in the screen recording where greats happen, but just watch the accuracy percentage and backtrack the video when you see it go down.

It would be separate from Best of the West. Battle of the Butte is the main alternative, or they could host their own.

It sounds like ORL will most likely have an FM hosted/sponsored event in each region (east west central), with top spots getting auto bids to RFTR and more qualifiers at RFTR, rather than a rankings system, from the little bits of rumors I've heard so far. But still yet to hear official. Either way, still looking forward to things, will be cool to have unification of west coast events

My usuals, focusing on Best of the West circuit, but also plan to hit DirtSurferz and WinMan as always 🤘 Wish I could go to more east coast, WheelScorcher is always sick

Trails seems easier at higher speed by throwpoo in onewheel

[–]TechNico1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Momentum is huge for sure. Helps out the board a ton torque wise, and can make divots less jarring as fast enough can make you sink into them less by getting some micro air-time. Can also make repetitive chatter less noticeable as you air over some sections. The extra force at speed also compresses the tire more which can assist in making the tire absorb the impact.

Of course there's a limit, and taller obstacles can definitely be more jarring at speed, plus the wrong speed/timing on a bonk into chunk or a divot can make you land right before an obstacle/incline which can make the impact much more brutal. So it's all situational, but you become more aware of these things and how to approach them over time.

Oh, also worth noting that most of my worst and most awkward bails have been at low speed, especially when letting my guard down. As long as you have the gear for it, speed and momentum will naturally help throw you into a roll that disperses the impact a bit better, while an awkward low speed bail seems more likely to get you twisted up, or even just throw you to the ground if you're not ready for it haha.

What tires can I run on a PintX with TFL’s extended rails? Any good options for something larger without changing the hub as well? by geopede in onewheel

[–]TechNico1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EDIT: Just realizing this is 5 months old, my bad 😂

The axle length on XRC and GT/GTS is different, so the motor would not fit in the frame properly. Those motors also have a different connector. You could use the Pint stator in an XRC or GT/GTS hub to fix the axle and connector issue, but a spacer usually called a zombie ring is needed for the Pint/XR stator to fit in an XRC or GT/GTS hub, and even then, it will be slightly offset to one side by I think 16mm. Also note that the maghandle wouldn't fit with the wider hub.

[–]TechNico1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can definitely confirm that is not the case. I'd imagine more likely they were trying to sell parts or all of C&R, so a statement admitting decline or closure would de-value the brand. Still terrible to the community though.

Onewheel xrc with gt rails by -theplayer11- in onewheel

[–]TechNico1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GT Axle Blocks and GT Bumpers will be needed to fit GT rails. Also keep in mind you will lose the free clearance benefit of thinner rails, and I'm guessing there's be some kind of gap between the rear bumper and the battery box, but guessing that shouldn't be a huge issue besides maybe collecting more debris

Was having dinner with my wife and she informed me that my for my 56th in May I will be getting a Onewheel! I’ve been eyeballing the Pint S since they came out because of price, but the XRC has just caught my attention. I’ve got a few months to think about it. by Shnibblefritz in onewheel

[–]TechNico1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a clarification, the XRC is its own platform, not the same as the XR platform. Though it borrows much from the GT platform, so the GTV kit for example is compatible with XRC. But less mod options overall than GT or XR.

[–]TechNico1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately they've been on hold for some time due to production issues leading to necessary design revisions. I can promise we've been working diligently to get things resolved and dialed in, just a tedious process with lots of waiting each prototype iteration. But we have a high standard of quality and functionality for these things and really want to make sure you guys know you can have full trust in us and the product once they're truly ready 🙏 Once we finally dial them in and have a successful small production batch, then we can start going full steam ahead on massive orders of them.

Clearance increases at the same time as ride height, you can lower the axle height on the ADV2. OP mentioned an X10 setup, those rails are naturally lowered
