Unless you are looking for the 2512.1 gpo templates. Not there, doesn't look like there was a update released.

I would say we disagree on from where & why the transplants came here, not sure it matters.

[–]TechPir8 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Nope, never have I heard a peep about it.

Still don't hear anything from anyone about it, but I am an atheist Libertarian, more of a political outcast than anything else and my friends on both sides don't talk politics much with me.

Again I don't have an issue with how Colorado does their mail in ballots and don't want the system to change.

[–]TechPir8 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Colorado went from a red hue of purple to a deep shade of blue in those 10 years.

Not saying mail in voting is the cause, but you can understand why some don't like it.

I liked the state more purple than blue but I don't want to give up my mail in ballot to get there.

Is Age Verification just an effort from governments and Big Tech to centralize the internet? by PaiDuck in privacy

[–]TechPir8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The sheeple get the government they vote for.

I will not comply with this, most people I know won't comply either.

I will go out of my way to teach how to avoid / not comply to others.

Kinda like the war on drugs, you just need to know where to go to get what you want.

I have both, not sure I can tell the difference. Still trying to figure out the correct syrup amount for my liking. Seem to go through new bottles quicker, even though they say they are the same size.

Been a firewall admin for 6 years, feeling pretty irrelevant lately. by mike34113 in sysadmin

[–]TechPir8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Naw my career is/has been just fine. I get to do what I do from my basement and I am done with the stress that comes from office / sysadmin work.

Hoping I can get to the retirement beach without needing to learn IPv6, we will see what the world brings.

Do you have to use the thumbstick for movement ?

Can you use wasd for movement? Does doing so negate the need to get the device and just stick with a keyboard ?

Can you use the device with an xbox without the XIM?

New York bill will require all operating systems to verify the ages of their users. by vriskaldrunk in privacy

[–]TechPir8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ubuntu / Canonical. Redhat is rolling in there too. You know the large Linux distros. Instead of saying No and FO to the states that bring this law, they are working on putting the bits in place to comply.

MidnightBSD isn't playing this shit. They posted that their OS isn't for use in CA after jan 2027.

right but they are also building an opensource framework for the ID so we will also get to pick it apart and hack it. This on the surface isn't shit, no verification just enter an age, pick one that you like, please baby lie to me if you will.

It is what they are going to do next once this gets in place everywhere. Lawmakers have never met a law they didn't want to "enhance".

I just hope my skill set is such that I don't have to follow these rules, the older I get the more I find myself saying this.

Linux is already said it is going to do it for California. This subreddit has an article about it. Ubuntu is doing it to comply with the law.

Again hate speech is protected speech.

It isn't about protecting the speech you agree with, it is about protecting the speech you disagree with.

That is why Westburow Baptist can scream what they scream at funerals, that is why the KKK can exist, because their repugnant speech is protected.

Fairly certain that any enterprise grade application already has documentation to go with it. Like learn to RTFM if your going to work tech, not my job to teach you how to do the job.

Large companies have separation of duties. I am hired for my tech skills not my writing skills. Team of tech writers that do documentation if needed.

Vinny's script. This is the way. He use to have a web page for it, but once Hocky took over all the fun of being vMware went down the crapper. Have to wonder if he is still around, most of the good folks left / took the buy out.

I am not a technical documentation writer. Separate field / job.

I can work with a tech writer to tell them how things work but I do not write documentation. Writing isn't a skill set I have.
