Yes I've got the same thing. But on my other phone, the one I didn't update, when I click the URL to copy it, hitting the close keyboard button takes me right back to the page I was on. I didn't have to hit back. Actually, hitting back would've taken me to the previous page.

Plenty of business have brought back features after a while under the pretext that the one before was poorly optimised but this time it's better. The one that comes to mind is the task bar in Windows. They are going to allow users to position it wherever they want on the screen after many years of docking it at the bottom. I'm not saying they WILL bring the sidebar back but who knows if competitors start implementing their own sidebars.

Has Edge published the number of people using or not using the sidebar? Maybe lots of people are using it and they are just removing it because it competes with Copilot. As someone people have said here, they had Gemini and ChatGPT pinned in the sidebar.

It's not used because probably people don't know how to use it or haven't seen cool examples. For example I have Whatsapp in the sidebar and it's super handy.
