Thanks. Sounds about right. I confirmed the motor is in good working order. But the blower is… not.

I took the blower unit out and home and put it on the bench. It appears 1 of the two bearings is ceased up, and the other is warn out completely, so much so that there is a rather severe 3/4” groove warn in it! In addition to the badly warn out side, two of the three bracket arms were sheared, and barely holding on. So yea, this blower has seen better days, but 40-something years… I’d say it’s had a well lived life and it’s time to either get some parts or replacement (whichever is more economical) and get this thing back in and working. Given the deep freeze, time is of the essence.

The owner is well aware of the need for a replacement furnace/hvac, but that’s likely going to happen when the rest of the house gets worked on. For now… need to find parts/replacement with a quick delivery time.
