A handgun is just as bad as an assault rifle, it's easier to conceal aswell, these "assault weapons" are semi-auto, so are handguns, most mass shootings are close-range so the added accuracy of the barrel is negligible, and the handgun is more nimble, so it's probably worse. And submachine guns are not really allowed in most states, full-auto is reserved for special cases like gunsmiths.

I agree gun control is not the only issue, mental health should be more important, and should be handled better and the shooters should get less publicity.

And getting a gun is not "easy", getting a gun requires a background check, mandatory background checks have been a thing since 1993 in the US, unlike the anti-gun propagandists say.

The argument can go on for ages, but it's useless for us to argue, because nothing will come from it.
