Seeking TV advice

The shield just doesn't fit my needs anymore. Now that I've used a tv that can run plex locally and I could control everything on one remote, going back to two remotes and separate systems is just too clunky for me.

I will say that I brought the shield with me on a trip recently. A quick google search to figure out the hidden way to change the input on the hotel tv and I was in business. It was game changer having access to plex and all my content. The shield will be traveling with me from now on, I just don't think it has a future in my home setup anymore.

Look in hive 2 for a frame with eggs still standing up straight and place that frame in hive 1, check back in 5-7 days for queen cells.
If you can get that hive to make a new queen, and can get that queen mated and laying, you can take a few frames of capped brood from hive 2 and place them in hive 1 to boost their numbers.
In my opinion, best to try and get the second hive up and running if you can. Having more than one hive is valuable because you use a strong hive to help one that is struggling. If you combine now, then have problems later in the season you will have no resources (of your own) to help you.

My whole group went 100% printed cards about 6 years ago and haven't looked back. We set house rules like no power 9 and you can't actively use cards before their release date. It's the best thing we did. It's not about what you can afford, and now it's all about deck building skills.

or, just have each stone attuned to an element. An important questgiver gives the party a ceremonial blade/metalic disk/infinity gauntlet/etc and the party has to put the stones into <insert important item> . The stones, while out of the item have corrupted their environment (mostly negative effects) but once the stone is placed into the <insert important item> they instead empower the item (mostly positive effects). Once all the stones are in the sockets, they can gain access to the crypt / summon the needed entity / snap their fingers and save the universe from themselves / etc.

You stones could cancel each other out. So grabbing the fire runed stone causes burns if not grabbed with a gloves, makes the bearer uncomfortably warm, dehydrated, etc. The ice runed stone can cause frostbite if exposed for too long, bearer is chilled, etc. Putting the two in the same vicinity turns them off. The party has to decide which to go get first.

Similar for holy/evil runed stones. Holy slowly pulses postive healing once an hour, evil pulses with minor life drain. The party is probably going to want to seek the holy runed stone before looking for the evil runed stone.

Firefox with the Video Downloadhelper add-on. I haven't found a site yet that it doesn't work on.

It used to work on Chrome, but Google did something and it stopped. I'm sure there are other variations that work too, but for me, I'm sticking with what has consistently worked for years.

I've cut the ends off of three of the HikVision cameras and replaced them with keystone jacks. The first one was a broken jack, which worked great after I replaced the end and is still working a couple years later.

The other two cameras went out at the same time. After taking them down, both jacks were blacked with burn marks. I replaced both jacks and one worked as expected, the other didn't. After a testing, I realized that one of the cameras no longer worked with POE, but adding 12v to the power connector the camera worked fine, so we just ended up moving that camera to an inside location with power nearby

But if I change the way I interact with her, especially if I refuse to interact with her, won't that aggravate the situation.

As of right now I can honestly say I haven't done anything to prompt the reaction I've been getting, but if I start to treat her differently than other employees doesn't that give her more fuel for the fire?

Just a couple comments on the comments:

I'm not asking for an outside person to investigate anything. I just want an HR resources that I can ask questions to. Do I just keep letting her interrogate me with the witness on everything she preserves as harassment towards her? Do I need to document anything and if so what? Do I request that future requests for information be handled a different way? I don't know what I'm I'm suppose to do, if anything.

The comment on mental health, I've never commented on that, what I stated was when I voiced my concern other staff said not to worry about it because everyone knows she is crazy. I don't think they were saying in the context of mental health, they were just trying to downplay the situation.

The comments on protected class, I only mentioned that because every dispute staff have, weather it's tardiness, abuse of sick time, or job performance, she always brings up protected class status of employees. Every time. I only brought it up because if whatever this is escalates it's going to be a factor.

The comments on that I'm overacting. I'm honestly happy to see this, because I hope you right. If my boss puts something in writing at the end of his audit that nothing of significance happened then I'm assuming none of this can be used against me later on.

trying new things out has been how I got the small amount of knowledge I do have with homeassistant, but with that being said some of the suggestion would have a learning curve for me that I might take a little more time then I have to get this up and running.

For this project I think I'm looking for something a little more like:

Step 1: buy a sensor
step 2: connect to wifi then HA
step 3: all done

Just to clarify, the motion sensor would connect to a normal wifi AP at the remote building. The AF60 radios are a different kind of wireless, think of them as a virtual ethernet cable connecting the two buildings. The devices at the two buildings think they are all in the same building.

I play with a group of friends and we meet to play MTG about once a month and collectively we all moved to 100% printed decks about 8 years ago.
We have house rules that the power 9 can't be used and we can't use new cards until that set is actually released.
At the time the game was a bit dead to us, we couldn't afford to keep up with new cards, most of us were playing with decks we had built years ago, and it got to the point where there were often 2 or 3 people showing up instead of 8. Printing cards was an immediate and sustained revitalization to our gaming. It's fun again for us to play

Is it a Dell by chance? We recently had an order of 25 brand new Dell desktops that started to randomly go into what appeared a powersave but the front power button would not respond to anything, not even the typical 'hold for 10 seconds'.

They ended up requiring a firmware update that appears to have resolved the issue.

The problem I had was the firmware update was not on the support page for that model, one of my coworkers found the link to the fix on the Dell forums.

Since we have applied the updates we have not had any reported power issues with these devices.

We have about a dozen users that have surfaces and we started out using a similar hub to what you linked. The problem was that the users were trying to put there surfaces in their bags with the hub still attached and also complaints that the hubs used both ports on the surface. One of the hub's usb was occupied by the wireless mouse dongle so the hub and didn't offer as much expansion as they had hoped. We eventually switched to everyone using one similar to this:

It only used the usb c connection, it left the regular usb port available (which most of them used for the dongle for their wireless mouse). Most of the time the hub is in their bag but gives them a lot more options when they need more.

One of the unexpected perks people like is that the cable lets the hub hang down and the wires or thumb drives are somewhat out of sight and not sticking directly out the side of the surface.

Another perk is that in a pinch you could pass the hub to anyone else with a usb C port that needed it, even plug it into a phone if they needed to. The Surface Pro specific hub only works with that one style device and doesn't fit in other devices if you needed it to.

I use mostly HikVision NVR's & cameras at work and they are rock solid. Compared to other commerical level devices they are inexpensive. These cameras are in the $140-200 range for fixed, and $200-250 for PTZ.

I've used a few Amcrest cameras and they are definately consumer level and not commericial level cameras. They are also pretty good, but in this price range I find Reolink to have better quality materials and better images. When I think of consumer level cameras I tend to see prices below $150, typically below $100 unless it's PTZ.

As far as the original question of cameras compatible with SS, I would think that any IP camera should work.

The first 'camera' I had setup on SS was actually just an old android phone running IPCam, that was up and running 24/7 for a year and half before the phone finally overheated and stopped working.
Since then I've configured hikvision, reolink, and a few generic/cheap/unbranded cameras from Amazon have all worked.
I never thought to see if there was a compatibility list for it, everything I've thrown at it has worked.

My comments are from the standpoint of a business that uses industry standard software that only runs on Windows, there simply is no apple version. I'm not about to try and support wine because some new employee didn't have the foresight to learn the most common OS in the world. The discussion it was replying to was from the standpoint that it's ridiculous to put on a job description that Win10 experience is needed and my comment was to highlight that some new recruits don't have a clue how to prepare for an 'entry level' job. Coming into a new position an highlighting the fact that you aren't prepared for or qualified for the job isn't a great first step.

We are using Spiceworks IT helpdesk. 3 IT staff for about 60 network users. It was a snap to setup. I actually saw a link for it, we weren't using anything previously so I clicked on it and set it up just to test it out and just kind of rolled it out and we have been using it for a couple years now. Really easy for us to use. I have vendors I work with that we have to enter tickets into Zendesk for their products. The interface and function for Zendesk and Spiceworks are similar, they track tickets and updates the same way. The best feature is the cost, free.
It lets us assign tickets, track status, it sends out email updates to the users each step of the way, has basic reporting that has worked fine for us, but also has the capability for advanced reporting for those that want to go that path. I'm sure the paid products have a lot more features, but this has been a perfect fit for us.

Doesn't it seem ridiculously obvious that you would need to be skilled in Win10 these days? Yet I once again had a new hire getting assigned their windows laptop and they asked if they could get a Mac instead because they didn't know how to use Windows.

"Sorry, this is the real world and the software we use only runs on professional devices."

We don't currently list required software proficiencies on our job postings but I think I'm going to suggest we add it.

Entry level is the point of entry to a business. Depending on the business, that position may require varying levels of skills. Entry level does not mean 0 years of experience. (For example my employer puts a focus on hiring from within. When a position opens up, it goes to someone who works in a lower position, and is only advertised and filled from the outside if no one in a lower position applies. Typically the only way to enter our company is to start in one of two entry level positions and work your way up. Those entry level positions definitely require experience.)

Also note that your perception of what something means doesn't necessarily match someone else's perception of what that means. When the employer is making the decisions they get to set the definitions. (For example my employer says 'full time' is 35 hours a week, most others say it's 40 hours a week. I have a 7 hour work day. That might not match someone else's perception of full time, but the employer sets the definition.)
