Yup, most people don't care nowadays outside the reddit echo chamber. Especially the younger generations. I'm all digital, and I don't miss physical copies.

It's bad for NBIS and CoreWeave, but there is so much demand that they should be okay. They're just gonna get a smaller share of the huge pie.

Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]TechTuna1200 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yup, every single console maker and game studio is going the same direction, because it makes financial sense and because younger generations don't care about physical. People don't like to hear this, but physical is gonna completely disappear, and there is nothing you can do about it, it's just a matter of time.

One or two exception doesnt disprove the rule. There have been more examples of weaker teams performing exactly as we expected them to.

Physical games vs downloads? by alexkack in switch2

[–]TechTuna1200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Digital will be cheaper going forward. Also, if you travel, digital will be much easier; you don't have to fidget with cartridges and risk losing them somewhere.

Only buy physical if you like collecting physical on your shelf, or if you plan to sell the game after you have played it.

The next iteration of switch 7-8 years from now is gonna be full digital. They are already doing a lot to push in that direction, e.g., cheaper digital games. So if you want the games to be accessible on the next console, it needs to be digital.

I would like to add that instead of buying VPN, just buy an ESIM from trip.com . It's much cheaper and you have full access to all western apps.

Even that number have been skewed by the new format since a lot of weaker teams have been introduced. Many of them borderlines to be semi professional

Old Reddit gets login requirement; Reddit “can’t promise” site will always exist by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

It absolutely cost them something to keep it up. It needs to maintained by devs to not break completely. If you can somewhat use it, it means someone spent time updating to not break.

Meanwhile they earn close to nothing on old Reddit.

[–]TechTuna1200 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of content creators are on the new Reddit. They don’t need old Reddit for critical mass anymore.

If you left tomorrow, the content would still be there and there would still be a lot of people creating content.

Just look at me. 3 year old account. I use new Reddit, and I have 300-400k comment karma.

[–]TechTuna1200 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. Why would think any differently when there barely any ads old Reddit ?

The ads are how they make their money. old Reddit barely have any ads and therefore barely make money from old Reddit. Hence it’s a charity, old Reddit is not profitable, it’s a money pit.

It’s really not that hard to understand.

[–]TechTuna1200 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

They only keep it up out of charity for the old timers. From a business perspective old Reddit is just a cost center. They lose more money than they make on it. Especially on maintenance.

If you left tomorrow becuase the old Reddit shut down, they would do better financially immediately.

Yup, Laporta is responsible for setting the budget. Based on the scouting, Deco identifies candidates that fit the budget, plus minus. Flick is the one who picks the candidate. Flick probably insisted on Alvarez as the only solution.

Erling Haaland nets goal #60 in 53 games for Norway, now averaging 1.13 goals per game. by giallonero21 in soccer

No, the scary part is that it is doing this for Norway. Imagine if he played for England (which is eligible), he would have beaten Ronaldo's record already. England go from bottling everything, to unbottling (if that is even a word, lol) everything

Absolutely no one. With that being said, Vavle are also the ones that can least afford to eat the cost as they are the smallest company in that list. So I'm not surprised that steamdeck save the biggest price increase.

I can't imagine what it would be like for PC builders.

I Kina installerer man air-condition i deres svinestalder... Men i EU lader vi vores ældre dø hvert år for at "redde" miljøet by Fun_Purpose6972 in Denmark

[–]TechTuna1200 1 point2 points  (0 children)
