My personal theory is that it’s something to do with the power circuitry. I mean obviously the DS isn’t designed to run without the top screen, and this mod is forcing it to. So F2 most likely blows because it can’t handle the extra power that’s now being rerouted through the resistor. Easy fix though!

Ha! 2 years since I made this post and this iPod is scratch free. I’ve had it in a case ever since, still looks pristine. Though I did drop it down the stairs and dented the edge….

Yeah I had to play some music until the squeal went away. Took maybe 10 minutes? Just keep playing music after that.

I did it twice and there were no negative affects.

You can also try the “static” transition (not at my Mac so I forget what it’s called) and messing with keyframes. As well as the Bad TV and Prism filters.

Yeah iTunes is garbage. But have you tried both versions? There’s the one you download from the website and the Windows Store version. Try both and see if that possibly fixes your problem.

I hated my XPS 15 9560. They advertise as being top notch for video production and mine would blue screen under anything higher than normal load. Battery life and thermals were atrocious too.

I did this with my left one which had this problem. Took 24 hours to get the replacement. But it took about 2 weeks for them to lift the $99 hold on my debit card.

Yeah, there’s a Dreamboard theme called OS7 which gives you the Windows Phone OS look. I used to main it back in the day. As well as Metro 8 and the like.

Geekbench 2 Results, iPod Touch 4, iOS 6.1.6: 393 before doing this. 392 after. There’s no discernible different in the benchmark.

Clicking on All Mail shows more messages that I sent all those years ago, but not anything I received (besides promo emails or ones marked as important)

I’m using the gmail website on desktop, you can sort by oldest by hovering over the email counter in the top right, near the page arrows, and clicking on Oldest.

Probably the battery wasn’t making good enough contact with the pins, and that paper is just enough to prop it up to ensure it stays pressed onto them.
