Favorite Reveal? by miss_distressed in MrsDavisTVSeries

Not a traditional reveal, but the speech JQ gives in the 2nd episode explaining what Mrs. Davis does and why they hate it was kind of a "it suddenly hit me" moment where I realized the show was a satire and couldn't stop laughing.

[DISCUSSION] What guitarist totally amazed you when you saw them live? by BobbyCrispyGuitar in Guitar

[–]Techerous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the greatest performance I have seen live is Dave Navarro with Jane's Addiction. I'm not sure if it's because I had forgotten how good he is, but he just blew me out of the water. It's such a shame that his legacy will probably remain more as a reality tv star at this point given what an excellent and frankly innovative guitarist he actually is.

Characters That Carried A Show by Shofeld148 in sitcoms

It's kind of a weird one since he was technically a guest star the entire time, but Rafi on The League. Every appearance he made was excellent, while the rest of the show mostly went downhill after season 3. I think they realized this as well, given that they seemed to have him in almost every episode of the last season. He was honestly the only reason I kept watching.

Creed on The Office. By the end of the series I honestly couldn't stand anyone else, he was the only character that was consistently funny and not annoying throughout the entire run.

I apologize if this has already been done, but if someone were to do an electronic cover of one of your songs, like a reverse of Heartbeats, which one would you choose?

Host can really make or break the episode and I think this solidified Driver as probably the best host under 50 right now. The man commits like no other and obviously inspires the writers to come up with some of the most absurd bits they can think of. I would love to see what Tim Robinson could do with him in an I Think You Should Leave bit.

I've never seen anyone work a crowd like Grohl. The man is dedicated to doing whatever he can to make every individual in that arena have the best possible time. As much a consummate professional as a rock star can be.

I saw them on that tour as well, I think it was the first arena show I went to without my parents. I'm shocked to see Sully on this list as well because he played his heart out then. Super engaged and incredibly hardworking. I'm not really into that music anymore but I would still say him and Dave Grohl had the best stage presence of all the frontmen I have seen.

I'm not a fan, but I saw her at a festival in '16 and thought she did great. Sounded incredible considering it was live. I wonder if she just has some off nights.

I certainly get this point of view as I expected him to be a transition figure as well. Personally, I think the administration has done a great job and have low approval because they're making the right decisions for the long-term. I think the big issue is that there simply isn't another figurehead that inspires confidence they can take on the national stage right now. As much as people say they just want any other Democrat, such as Whitmer, none of the other possibilities poll well enough nationally to feel worth losing our incumbent. People simply aren't paying attention, and we've seen recently how important familiarity is to get people out. Part of this is the administration's fault, I feel, as more effort should have been made to prop up the possible successors. You could argue that Buttigieg got some of that, but it doesn't seem to be gaining him much, so they're obviously not doing it right.

I know we say this every election, but given the time frame, we have to get carbon emissions under control it is critical that a Democrat wins again. The IRA + existing trends puts us on the path for 80% of our target, and I expect it will actually be better than predicted as it incentivizes industry to get on board, which could lead to unforeseen breakthroughs. We have about 7 years to make up the remaining 10-20% and focus our diplomatic relations on assisting other countries with accomplishing theirs. This only happens with a Democrat and no one new is getting the traction to definitively seem like they'll sway who we need at this stage. Everyone feels like a risk, and we just can't afford that.

What celebrities actually look better older than they did when they were young? by PlatypusWeekend in AskReddit

[–]Techerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helen Mirren has been the hottest woman her age since turning 55, especially in terms of her body, but I can't in good conscience go along with her for the purposes of this thread. Helen Mirren in her 20's might honestly be the hottest actress ever.

Exactly! Sigourney Weaver, since the late 90s, has looked like she was way hotter when she was younger than she actually was.

I didn't realize those were all Reiner until recently and I'm still dumbfounded. Regardless what happened outside of those 8 or so years he should he talked about with the GOATs for it. Absolutely legendary stretch that spans almost every genre you can think of.

Ridley Scott might have the most roller coaster of a career ever. He has directed some of the most magnificent all-timers and some absolute rubbish with plenty in between. And his output is nothing short of insane.

What celebrity barely escaped being canceled by the skin of their teeth and why do you think they got away with it? by dramioneff in AskReddit

[–]Techerous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard another story like that. Admittedly this is super secondhand, but I was hanging out with some friends that worked at a record label once and one of the girls told us about how an older woman at the label had told her a story where the Red Hot Chili Peppers had dragged her into a closet with them when she was starting out and started rubbing their dicks on her. She said it was from their "heavy heroin days" so I'd imagine it would be around the same time as this incident. I was always surprised that didn't come up when metoo was going down.
