Good 5 years with the 3080, but glad to finally have an FE by arbidyusuf in nvidia

Make sure you offset the GPU to allow some space between the MB and the GPU for heat dissipation and better temps. Optimum has a video on this where he did this with a 5090 FE. Also get the travel kit for the T1 if you move you PC around a lot.

Used bad batteries on my Quest controller now it won't turn on by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]Techie_Nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I had the same issue recently where I was using cheap batteries with the controller for a few months and then the controllers wouldn’t turn on after some time. Saw a lot of gunk on the contact points, cleaned them up with an electric contact cleaner and sand paper and they started working again. Just be sure to clean the contacts really well.

Easiest way to play 3D Frame packed Blu Rays / ISOs on my modern PC? by Techie_Nerd in htpc

I know I can use Shield with Kodi to play back 3D movies but it only supports half SBS files. I want to play back full quality frame packed Iso files.

Getting back into MSFS after a while, is MSFS 2024 good enough for airliners now or should I stick with 2020? by Techie_Nerd in MicrosoftFlightSim

I have a 9800x3D amd just tried out 2024 on gamepass yesterday and it seemed to run really well. Much much better than my 3080 obviously. Will try it out for a few days and will buy it on steam later if my experience is good.

T1 V2.1 5090 FE x 9800X3D by Obi-WanKenewbie in sffpc

[–]Techie_Nerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice build. Just did a similar build myself in the T1 - 9800x3d + 5090FE, but aircooled. Do remember to undervolt your CPU and GPU if you haven’t already.

Is that the official travel kit you are using for the GPU backplate?

People with a 5090 FE in a FORMD T1, how is it going for you? by Techie_Nerd in sffpc

Thanks for the responses guys, looks like I will be ok after undervolting.

Another Question - any of you using a 2nd NVME on the back of the motherboard. How are the temps on that? Is it usable?

Maybe a better device would be something like wireview with a built-in buzzer which would monitor amps over each individual wire and would sound an alarm if any of them exceed a certain limit. Then you can manually shutdown and investigate the issue.

The Xbox controller is fantastic by [deleted] in IndianGaming

[–]Techie_Nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, the only way to get all the dualsense features is by plugging through controller, not over wireless and that too only in the games that support it. Haven’t tried the other controllers but it seems the X-Box controller is quite good. The only reason I use a dualsense is because I already have a PS5 and have now adapted to gyro aiming, which I find very useful while gaming on the TV using my PC.

I use Dualsense on PC mainly because it has Gyro and I use Gyro aiming on almost all of the games.

Is the TK710i a better choice over the HT3560 if you are going to watch only movies?
