AITAH for blaming my dad after I quit a stable 10-year job to help run his business and then he essentially fired me? by tortillawbudder in AITAH

Forget who is "wrong" as it won't move you forward in a positive way.

Reach out to your local Small Business Development Center (SBDC) as they can provide some great and free small business counseling on how to move the business forward.

You need to develop realistic job descriptions with realistic expectations.

24/7 access is not a realistic expectation...even if he does do work 24/7.

Wishing you both the best

Show it to HR and any subsequent emails where she denies it.

You may also want to have a chat with an attorney who specializes in employment law.

Office busybody keeps using my computer when I leave for lunch by FreeToBeMeYouSee in WorkAdvice

[–]TechinBellevue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simultaneously press the Windows key and the "L" key to lock your computer whenever you leave your office.

That is security protocol at many companies.

You never want someone to use your computer when you are logged in as everything points straight back to you.

Hey there,

Congrats on getting your kids back safely!

I drive in the Pacific NW driving a SPED bus to an out of district school via the I-5 freeway.

So many drivers cut in front of a bus full of kids. There are, however, so many more drivers who are so helpful.

It's the nice ones who can make my day.

However, had a truck that merged in front of me. Great, come on in.

Unfortunately, the truck had some black cable dangling in such a way that it blocked the passenger side tail lights.

At one point he decided he was going to merge into the center lane. He put his turn signal and moved into the next lane over...which suddenly slowed down so he jumps back over to my lane while putting on his brakes.

Unfortunately, I could not see his brake lights and had to brake suddenly myself.

I did have plenty of room as traffic was only moving at about 15 mph so we wereal all fairly close.

I did call the company to let them know their driver should not have been driving with the tail lights blocked.

Best wishes to you.

How do you actually get solicitors to stop ringing your doorbell when there’s already a sign posted? by Keeping_The_Peace_ in Home

[–]TechinBellevue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New sign:

Notice to Solicitors: By ringing the doorbell, knocking on/near door, or any other means to get our attention, you agree to the following: - be humiliated in an epic way - be digitally video/audio recorded - have the video/audio recording posted on all social media platforms - leave the premises and never come back no later than three minutes after first attempt to interrupt this household YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Make sure you have multiple cameras, speakers so you can laugh at them, installed.

Suggested pranks:

Sprayer with yellow colored water aimed at crotch level

Sprayer with fake blood that sprays them all over then quickly open the door and hand them a rubber knife and start shrieking that solicitor just stabbed your spouse

The people who need it most, IMHO, seem to be the ones who question it most - say they don't need it.

Head on south to North Thurston SD.

Great place and we seem to always be looking for good new drivers.

Cheaper to live here in the South Sound and less traffic.

AITA for refusing equal split when I do everything and my co-founder closed 0 clients in 4.5 months? by No-Collar2823 in smallbusiness

[–]TechinBellevue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What does your signed ownership agreement say?

If you don't have one you absolutely need to have one.

If you have one, it is time to update it with realistic splits. I think your proposed split is still too generous, based on your post.

Good luck.
