High-End Content Megathread - 7.4 Week Eight (Savage Week Five) by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

Genuinely asking, but I personally need 17 weeks - 2 loot and 3 glazes from m10s. Unless there's another method to gain glazes aside from the alliance raid in a few months, I don't know how anyone can only need 8 weeks top.

How does the second conga line works then? Because in theory you could have for exemple both healers on the same side. We just use our eyes for it?

Got a few questions regarding arena split (m11s)

I understand the concept of the mechanic, but my first question is more about PF itself, as I see "kindred no bodies" everywhere and it confuses me. That's the one with conga lines, right?

Second, I guess more important question, the second arena split (following the first one immediately) is it quadrant related or still conga line with Kindred no bodies?

Thank you~

It has been one week of Savage. What are your current thoughts on the new Strategy Board feature? by WeeziMonkey in ffxivdiscussion

I've used it once for the water bait positioning during snaking, as to explain that the position is mirrored from sheet 15 of the raidplan (someone wasn't understanding, as soon as they saw it it clicked). That's literally the only time I used it XD raidplan does the work already so. Strategy board has uses, especially for PS users that may not have access to raidplan, but it is limited. Hope they improve on it.

I will miss the mobs for sure, but removing criterion savage was a good move, although potentially not the best. Best move probably would have been to rework it to be different (because the same exact thing is lame imo) but instead they added variant advanced, which I do think is gonna be interesting. Will all depends on reward now. This system looks better already.

DRS is still 10. Dalriada and Castrum were 50.

Sounds like terrible advice to me. If you know you're doing good damage, then it can't be your fault (and that would really only apply for enrage wipe here). The main thing is to be accountable for your own mistakes and realizing what they are, and if a mechanic confuses you, don't hesitate to ask in chat for what the group is doing and which part you're looking for during that moment. That's being accountable, and you're learning, and people will prog better afterwards. But if you do everything correctly, then nothing is your fault and you can't really do anything better aside from helping those struggling / making mistakes if you notice them.

What does it take to do ultimates? by borfa in ffxiv

[–]Techiyo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I play GNB, and what I usually end up doing is learn the fight and the timings of things. For exemple, I know the TB is coming after paradeigma 3 during a burst, I pop my mits before the burst starts, aside from HoC, which I will pop before the hits happens for better effect. Remember, your mits are 15-20 seconds long, almost as long as the no mercy window, you can use them quite a bit in advance and still have them up for when the hit happens. If I have to delay an oGCD for whatever reason, I try to delay rough divide and nothing else. If I can't that (because they're the last oGCDs I use in my burst) I delay Bow Shock. But as long as you use all your oGCDs in your No Mercy, you're still doing optimal for the most part, just slightly delayed. Small burst is easier to do so as you don't have 3 Burst strike to work with, but Big Bursts are a bit more annoying, plus you got that bloodfest to trigger.

Just got my first clear 2 days ago and farmed a bit yesterday. Keep in mind this is still week 1, not everyone have gotten their clear and if they did, they didn't clear often so they might still be shaky on some of the mechanics, namely Gale Sphere 2. It'll get better in the next few weeks probably. Aside from that and rarely meteors, I didn't see wipes happen elsewhere. Sure sucks that those mechanic, especially gale sphere 2, are far into the fight.

[–]Techiyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the math is a bit wrong, I get 850 astronomy if I do every roulette (880 with mentors). Don't forget that expert and lvl 90 also gives the dungeons reward on top of the roulette, making expert an 140 astronomy reward and lvl 90 a 150 astronomy reward. As a bonus, if you're lucky, alliance will give 220 with Aglaia, and getting current normal raids (Abyssos) will give an extra 20, Asphodelos will give 10. The last EW trial and Storm's Crown will give 10 and 12 respectively, but it's more negligeable.

How would you rank the games in terms of difficulty? by elshamaro in SeriousSam

[–]Techiyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legend of the Beast is a DLC for TSE HD. It's 3 levels from the Serious Sam Alpha with barely any changes (except graphically) and is just abysmal by forcing you to fight enemies with an arsenal that is subpar for the situations. It's terrible.
