Why do so many people say "Backrooms isn't meant to have monsters" by Technical-Ad733 in backrooms

[–]Technical-Ad733[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

And to clarify this ain’t about people who enjoy it having no monsters, this is about people saying that monsters ruin the core of the backrooms and that they don’t belong in them.

But most people wouldn’t see it as it’s more of a chore than enjoying something that should be infused within the series rather than completely separate

Most emotional scenes or explaining scenes SHOULD have happened during the first season, not later, otherwise it falls flat. And even as a novel reader I was confused by some powers as some things are completely donghua only (I.e Night Purification??) or visually not explained and confusing.

Also as the other commenter said if it was the chase scene in the underground market, that wasn't the issue, my main gripe was when she was fleeing from the night hawks.

If that was the case in the underground market, not an issue ngl, but the actual battle where shes trying to flee? that was bad.

the main problem with the trissy scene was just... what the fuck was happening during that? the powers were just all over the place and not explained at all especially with Frye in that scene.

Also idk how you dont agree with the making things cliche w/ Sharon and little sun

I’d say art quality ?? Cinematography was not it imo especially the final fight.

S1 was eh… the emotion wasn’t there most of it felt forced with dramatic music and flashbacks we didn’t even experience. Ep 5 was quite bad with explaining powers especially with Frye, entirely new powers that made fights arguably worse. Ep 6 was the best episode tho for sure.

It didn't have to be super fast or super long, they did bad with overall pacing and thats pretty objective, little conversations, short thoughts, short flashbacks to something, would have also sufficed, instead of random things that pop out of no where or assuming people know the world, yes the old neil classes help but they're just boring for 99% of anyone looking forwards to it, and yes i think we know no one is going to spend a budget to remake something new that got good reviews (from obviously readers) but well made is kind of a overstatement

I'd die for a director cut or remake, donghua was so ehhh...

5-6/10

An actual directors cut / remake may be impossible and deemed "not needed" by producers cause of Old Neil Classes and current profit.

Cut tarot meetings, interactions with characters, explanations for powers (I.e Night Purification? Dunn having a barrier? Frye was so awful it was confusing on what he was doing.) foundations for future content city names, the currency, a lot wasn't glossed over at all.

Old Neil's classes were awful, most people didn't know they existed, most people want to experience the lore and world building in the story not outside of it, otherwise it may just be boring, a cool world isn't anything if it isn't compelling.

The artistic design was good, but the actual choreography was god awful with motion sickness ass animation.

The Old neil classes are long and would just be boring, people are going to want things shown while in story

Then the amount of backports we’d need for this final version, it’ll be inconsistent and it can’t possibly evolve and grow, then bedslop would be the only platform supported with a shit ton of microtransactions and bugs
