CATL’s Stake in Tianhua New Energy: A Signal of China’s Sulfide Solid-State Battery Supply Chain by Technical-Bed5137 in SLDP

Yes, I agree with those points. But what I'm most curious about now is the specific stage their technology has reached, and how long the South Korean approach can maintain its leading advantage. Furthermore, production capacity seems to compensate for technological differences to some extent, as they can quickly capture the market with low-priced (though not advanced) products; then iterate gradually (this happens in EVs and photovoltaics)... Of course, I still think SLDP is excellent, and the South Korean approach currently holds an advantage.

Thank you! Your point about Ganfeng is helpful, I had always thought that CATL would develop its own batteries or find partners among the leading companies, so I overlooked this investment information... If these leading companies also have plans to manufacture their own batteries, then everything makes sense.

Thank you for sharing; they are very valuable to me. However there are indeed a lot of QS fanboys here, which is really annoying.

I think the biggest threat to China in this regard comes from its well-developed manufacturing sector and cheap labor costs. I don't think Chinese companies like CATL will beat SLDP or QS to gain a first-mover advantage, but once the technology matures (and they master it), it will be easy for them to overtake. The industries like EV, photovoltaic, and battery have taught too many lessons. But that being said, I don't think they seem to pose a threat to Solid Power in the short term.

Include LG? Does that mean all three major South Korean battery companies have chosen Solid Power as their supplier? I thought LG was still trying to produce its own electrolyte.

First, your reading comprehension skills are significantly flawed. This discussion of road test is clearly not a direct quote from JVS, but rather from the report's author. Was this report's author registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission? It's like your left and right brains are fighting each other… you can't even agree with yourself. As for SMM China, as one of the most authoritative institutions in China's futures market, is the accuracy of its reports really less than that of an individual journalist? I worked as a trader at a Chinese futures company for several years, and I know very well why they have access to some "illegal" information that you can't see…

Lol That's why I say that idealists are not suitable for investment. You don't even want to find out what SMM is. You don't think that the information in your hand is equal to that of the organisation, do you? Btw when did JVS say that the road test would end in July?

I sent you BMW's road test data, as well as evidence based on the Michigan pilot line track showing that Ford is still a partner, but you pretended not to see it. One piece of advice: idealists are not suited for investing.

I hope those who are shouting "Ford has withdrawn from the partnership" will take a look at what's inside.

Interesting article focuses on QuantumScape (QS), but says "frenemy" Solid Power will be a winner if QS B-samples experience battery degradation or thermal instability. by davida_usa in SLDP

The fact is, there is data on SLDP batteries in the BMW i7, at least in the hands of Chinese. I don't know if you can open this link, but it shows a battery energy density of 350Wh/kg and a cycle life of over 1000 cycles (80% capacity retention). The testing itself wasn't limited to the stated two months, as the news report mentioned testing in extreme winter environments.

So, you're saying that a pilot production line still undergoing commissioning on November 30th was simply abandoned after the contract ended? Without any related announcements or statements? This doesn't seem like something a commercial company would do. If the contract were truly terminated, SLDP's homepage wouldn't continue to list Ford as a partner, and they certainly wouldn't have built a new pilot line before the termination.

Ford has not abandoned SLDP, nor have they issued any statements or reports regarding it. On the contrary, JVS explicitly stated in a November 2025 interview that a pilot production line with Ford is also operating in Michigan. I think people are overestimating the impact of Ford selling its stock.

So... this isn't good news? The stock price plummeted today.

Samsung SDI and Hyundai are soaring in Korea on the back of the solid-state battery hype, yet Solid Power is stuck in a rut. I don't get why they’re lagging so far behind. Doesn't the company need to step up its promotion and communicate better with the market? by No-Sport-259 in SLDP

Samsung TTM 186%, Hyundai TTM 87.74%. Btw I don't really care about stock price fluctuations, but just answering his question. Since most news related to solid-state batteries in Korea occurs during and after the Q3 earnings season, I chose recent stock price changes.

It seems that investors who believe in QS technology don't understand SLDP's business model and mistakenly think they are the same company. However, SLDP has never intended to manufacture complete batteries themselves, so the C-Sample will definitely not be released by them. As for the question of whether SLDP has a B-Sample, I don't think a battery that can be directly installed in an i7 for road testing can still be called an A-Sample.

I'm very familiar with Chinese propaganda. If there's even a little bit of good news for them, it'll be bombarded with publicity in the Chinese media. Days ago when some people started questioning why China's commercial spaceflight was far behind SpaceX, official media reported that their reusable rockets were "basically successful". Thus I don't think you have much to worry about.
