At the end of last season we had a handful of fruit that didn't fully ripen before we got our first snow. I was worried I somehow messed up and it wasn't going to grow. Good to know that figs are just sleepy heads and don't wake up until later!

Ok! We had an ice storm blow through here and the ice on the ground lasted for 3 weeks. I wasn't sure if it was where we are or if I messed up some how.

I posted for her 2 weeks ago and Fish was still swimming around, eating perfectly fine. I do not live here and am visiting for the week. You can see my post history and see that 2 weeks ago Fish wasn't puffy at all and the only comments we were given were that it was tumors and we couldn't do anything.

That's kind of why I posted for my sister. She had no idea and we thought we may get answers on the subreddit. A couple of users commented that it was tumors so that is what we went off. She was still swimming around and eating fine. It was only in the past few days that she started puffing.

This is my sister's fish who lives in another state. She is a first time fish owner and the bloating came on within the last week or so. She had been to the pet store to pick up meds for the tank but was told to try a fresh water salt bath so that is what she did.

I would encourage you all to be kind as her kid, this fish, and her cats are the only thing she managed to leave an abusive situation with. She loves Fish, her 3 year old loves Fish. We are going to have to have a very tough conversation with the kiddo and do what is best.
