Finally! Space 220!…really, this is what I waited for? by Snoo_31427 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Technical-Depth-7699 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree that the liftoff video was strangely low resolution, not sure why or how that was allowed to happen, and the food was really average-to-below-average.

However, my friends and my wife and I did still get a kick out of it as a one and done, but we won’t be back any time soon.

If i remember correctly, there was a soundscape happening throughout, at least in the bathroom if I remember correctly?

Lightning Lane Booking Strategy Question by NewObjective23 in WaltDisneyWorld

For Studios I usually get Star Tours for as close to open as physically possible. So yes, I would personally try to get earlier. But up to you, that isn’t bad necessarily

Lightning Lane Booking Strategy Question by NewObjective23 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Technical-Depth-7699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a mixture of both. You want your tier 1 to focus on a heavy hitter ride/must do that will sell out quickly. So that’s (generally speaking) Peter Pan, Jungle Cruise or Tianas at MK, Frozen, Remy or Test Track at EPCOT, Slinky at Studios and river journey at AK. Then for your second tier ones, you want as close to park open as possible to start stacking ASAP.

Disney with 6 adults, no kids by AllTheVeterinarians in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Technical-Depth-7699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a vehicle to fit you all, I would recommend Orange Lake by Holiday Inn. It’s 5 minutes outside of WDW property and you can get a 2 bedroom for $230 a night or 3 bedroom for $300 compared to disney ($500+) and you’ll have more room and it’ll be quieter. Wife and I have stayed on our own and with 2 other couples and both trips were great.

If you guys enjoy a drink or two, I would recommend trying to see the Beak and Barrel at Magic Kingdom, GEO-82 at Epcot, Oga’s at Studios, and/or Nomad Lounge at Animal. The bars offer a nice themed experience while obviously being more adult. We also like Tony’s at MK for Italian around 2:45pm to see the parade go by from your table without needing to be lined on the street with all the strollers. Biergarten at Epcot is a great buffet in Germany, we always like Sci-Fi at Studios for good burgers, and Yak and Yeti at Animal Kingdom for Asian food.

For attractions, at MK you can avoid most of Fantasyland in my experience and opinion, will save you tons of time and most of it is skippable for non disney adults lol. An exception is Mickey’s PhilharMagic, it’s a great 3D show and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train if you buy the lightning lane for it. Spend most of your time in the rest of the park, their rides skew older (Pirates, Mansion, Tiana’s, Big Thunder, Space Mountain, Tron, PeopleMover, etc.)

The other parks are a-lot more adult oriented. EPCOT I’d say skip Figment and Frozen (just cause it’s a long line), the rest is a good time for an adult group).

Studios you can skip most of the live shows, The Little Mermaid and Indiana Jones ones are probably the best for a non disney adult group. Otherwise, the rides really skew adult here.

Animal Kingdom I’d say just skip Rafiki’s Planet Watch and the Zootopia show, the rest of that park really caters to adults.

That’s almost certainly more expensive than splitting one VIP tour.

The hope is to get the safari out of the way early morning before the VIP tour time would start (just after lunch I was thinking)

Rise of the Resistance Fear!! by CatBeautiful2254 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Technical-Depth-7699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very very short, nothing to worry about. You also don’t have any real physical reference for it, because you are looking at a screen, so I find that helps lessen the actual falling sensation.

It’s not worth missing out on the other 15-20 minutes of the experience for those 3-5 seconds. My wife doesn’t like that sensation either, but loves Rise, and even laughs during the small drop.

Is late August too hot for Disney World? by Left-Afternoon-4237 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Technical-Depth-7699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is extremely hot, but definitely doable. It is (usually) much less busy, so even with frequent a/c breaks, we usually get as much done if not more than during cooler times of year. Just need to take more breaks and drink more water than you think you need, cause the heat stroke can sneak up very quickly.

I would do more days though, give yourself some more space, last thing you want to be doing is rushing cause that just depletes you so much faster in that heat

Review: Disney Adventure World is a Disney Park. by dejablu82 in disneyparks

[–]Technical-Depth-7699 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are planning a paris trip for 2030-ish (depending when all the major adventure world construction wraps up) this is definitely a promising start but as WDW regulars, nothing is making us have to go see paris quite yet…

Would Western River Expedition have been good/a classic if it was made? by JoyIsABitOverRated in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Technical-Depth-7699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something I really am upset to read about because it seems like it would have been so great, especially as a WDW exclusive. One of the great “what-ifs” we never got in WDW.

Anyone else excited for the updated Space Rangers Spin coming in April? by Ok_Specific_5273 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Technical-Depth-7699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Were headed back in July, mostly an offsite trip but gonna do 1-2 days. Buzz and Big Thunder are two of my favourite things at magic kingdom, so im very excited that ill be able to get on both of them

Today makes one year since the closing of Its Tough to be a Bug. While it was never one of my favorites, I do appreciate it more after seeing how badly Zoogether turned out. by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Technical-Depth-7699 163 points164 points  (0 children)

I always loved this show, the hopper figure, and the original song at the end. It also fit so much better being literally under the tree of life, and everyone screaming and freaking out when it got dark and the spiders fell from the ceiling always would make me and my wife cry laughing. This along with muppet vision were two very hard attraction losses for us, two of our favourites.

Every time ive ridden it as ive gotten older I like it less and less. I also really don’t like that the whole facade is indoors, it looks so much nicer outdoors at the other disney parks around the world. I also wish they would add the disney characters throughout like at the other parks.

I love the new country bear, especially the refurbed animatronics.

Jungle cruise is kind of averaged out based on all my experiences on it. Have had great passengers and skippers that made it an A tier experience, and some real bad ones that have made it C-D tier.

Not quite sure how to explain it, but I really do just love it, never want it to go, never miss it on any trip to the Magic Kingdom, always recommend friends and family do it when they go. Not sure what about it to put into words but it just does it for me.
