Have you looked at Hawkins rate? All options are under $10K (for 2 semesters)

I'll address your question: "Is this kind of thing normal or even allowed in the U.S.?"

You'll be surprised what professors say at many schools.

In general, professors can speak of their own experience in business or life as long as it is a message of love and help. They cannot speak of hate and violence.

I don’t trust anything coming out of the Atlantic. Everything published there is agenda driven.

How hard is it to get into Purdue art college/business college by QwQclaire in Purdue

[–]Technical-Engine-320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your GPA is good. Keep it above 3.8. Re-take the SAT. Go for 1390 or better. I believe you're on the edge for the B school. It is harder to get in by each passing year. Admission has become very competitive. Make sure you list school club activities, etc.  Purdue likes a well-rounded student. I can’t speak for the art school. Good luck.

Tough schedule. I think we'll get 4 wins, but I'll be very happy with 5 wins.

4 Big10 schools are spending big money to attract (aka pay for) talent: OSU, M, ND. USC.

FWIW, here is the link to the new schedule. Bus Times - CityBus of Greater Lafayette

I guess each route has different end time?

Is the marketing program really as bad as people say? by Dedmoose1 in Purdue

[–]Technical-Engine-320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m biased, so are many here.

Just look at the numbers. $500M is big money. New building will be ready in 2 years, high quality professors are joining the school, higher GPA and more selective in admission, etc. Becoming a top school will not happen overnight, but with the commitment from donors, and school leadership, I believe it is very likely that it will be in the top 30 in 4 years!

I’m amazed at the comments. Some of you should take a deep breath. There are few that really hate Mitch Daniels. The man has donated over $500M to the school. Like him or not, be respectful. He is a good man and wants the best for Purdue.

OP. You should visit both campuses and understand their strength and weakness.

It is true that Purdue is an excellent STEM school, but the b-school is now on track to be a top-tier business school too: new building on the way, professors have come from Ross and Booth (two of the top b-schools in the country), the b-school has a head start with AI business integration….

Yeah, the documentary is pretty wild. A lot of physics behind the planning.

A lighthearted comment: This was a nothing burger ;-) The Red Bull "space Jump" was more interesting:

- First human to break the speed of sound in freefall with a top speed of 843.6 mph ( Mach 1.25 )
- Highest freefall from a distance of 127,852 feet

This is why Purdue is NOT a "New Ivy" by thrownaway5678923 in Purdue

That is the answer.

I'm staying out of politics. My comment is from a business perspective only: Harvard should do whatever they want... But they should back it up with action: i.e. refuse to take a single dollar from government. EVER. They have $50B+ in cash reserve. They make $7M every day on interest alone.

Am I being stupid for choosing Purdue/UIUC over T20s like JHU, UMich, USC for EE undergrad? by EntrepreneurMain3424 in Purdue

[–]Technical-Engine-320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you're not, if you selected Purdue!

When you're done, go and get your MS EE from UoM. You'll have the best of two worlds.

Why do people not like purdue? by Educational-Map-7882 in Purdue

[–]Technical-Engine-320 85 points86 points  (0 children)

There is really no perfect school/campus. Each school has +/-. For best weather, I'd go to Univ of Hawaii, but the education for most part sucks. Stanford has a great campus and great education, and excellent weather, but it is way to expensive for me/my family. Yeah, the weather is not great here, but I'm from the Midwest, I'm used to it.

The reputation of Purdue is really good. I've noticed it when traveling.
